Yeah, Perlman would be totally fine with me. He's not my first pick, primarily because I feel he's just a tad too old if we're talking about multiple films, but I can't argue about not liking the guy. I'd still go with Stevenson or Manganiello over Perlman if I had the choice. Not because I don't love Perlman but because I want Cable/Deadpool and then X-Force films. Say we get 3 films in a decade and Perlman will be in his mid 70s. That's a tough sell imo.
I saw Edge was campaigning for Cable as well. I honestly don't think it's a horrible idea. However, it does feel like something that would happen for an X-Force TV Show, and not so much for a big budget film. That's just a huge role for Edge, who hasn't done anything anywhere near that level to this point. So I don't see that happening.

Not my first pick either, but even Marvel Select thinks cable & Perlman look alike...

Batista landed a big role without having anything near that level, so I think Edge would be good. Don't really see him as Cable though. Perlman would be fantastic!

For those intrigued about the final Wolverine film to feature my fellow countryman, Hugh Jackman: Never thought I'd see Richard E Grant in a Marvel film.

For those intrigued about the final Wolverine film to feature my fellow countryman, Hugh Jackman: Never thought I'd see Richard E Grant in a Marvel film. This will definitely be Old Man Logan by title only.. Anyone that has read that comic knows it is impossible for Fox to actually make it even remotely close to the source material. That being said, I hope they don't go the "every X-Men is dead" route.. We played that card in Days of Future Past, and I don't really want to see it again.. After Apocalypse, my expectations should be pretty low for X-Men related films.. But I enjoyed The Wolverine quite a bit, and I really love Hugh in the role of Logan.. So my expectations are actually high for this.

Ironhead studios (a company who make a lot of superhero movie costumes) didn't get the bid to make Fox's Apocalypse. But they cast Oscar Issac's head and this was their design... Personally I think that is miles better than the version we got. Had he looked like that, and grew in size, I think he would have been far more intimidating. While I'm at it, here is the trophy case showing off some of their other designs...

That's look sick! I do much prefer that design and wish they had gone with something closer to that but I still love the film. Personally put it above first class and didn't think it as bad as some people or nearly as half bad as critics did.
I think it suffered from to much new going on, new squad of xmen, new squad of villains all needing a backstory fleshed out. Apocalypse would have definetly benefited from being a 2 parter or three parter including Phoenix saga.

I kinda think Fox should have saved Apocalypse for their version of a "team up" movie. Would been a great villain to force the X-Men, Deadpool, & Cable (maybe even the horrible Fantastic Four) to unite.

Apocalypse was supposed to be game-changer or a world-ender...and in the end...he was kinda boring. I also think Ironhead's design was a million times better than what we got.

It's being reported Marvel has regained the movie rights to Namor. If true it'll be great to see him in the MCU. I'd save him though for after infinity wars so they'll have a new character for fans to anticipate for phase 4.

It's a tragedy we didn't get that look for Apocalypse. What a ridiculous improvement over what they decided on.

Sadly it wouldn't have made the movie better, apart from that IMO.

They picked the design we saw over this one, and to me that shows that they were making miscalculations (for lack of a better word) from the start. I think that snowballed into what we wound up seeing on the screen.

I didn't hate the movie. It just wasn't one of the better ones.
I've grown to expect less from the x-movies, and I tend to enjoy them more if I don't expect much.

Here's a question for you guys, I was talking this over with my other half the other day.
When the big stars contracts end and they want to move on (RDJ, Evans, Hemsworth, Johansen etc)
Would you rather have those characters recast or have the characters never appear again in the cinematic universe?

Here's a question for you guys, I was talking this over with my other half the other day. When the big stars contracts end and they want to move on (RDJ, Evans, Hemsworth, Johansen etc) Would you rather have those characters recast or have the characters never appear again in the cinematic universe? Captain America is easy, because we have Bucky, or even Falcon. The rest though? I'd rather just see them not appear. There are tons of characters they can use to facilitate continued and new interest. I think Ant-man is proof of that and we'll continue to see more of that kind of thing. Working in Guardians is a big deal though. Chris Pratt has become a huge star through Guardians and Jurassic World, and you can supplement him into that RDJ spot. I think they'll find a way to make it work without their current stars and without having to recast anyone. Although, we saw with War Machine they weren't afraid to do it but he's obviously not Iron Man or Cap level. We're going to see Scarlet Witch and Wasp replace the Black Widow role, and I think Marvel will continue to shift the teams moving forward so there is less emphasis on singular characters. Fresh characters are going to be good for everyone imo. That's going to keep it hot and give fans something to be excited about. Plus, you can always have those old stars go away and then come back down the road. Spider-man is 20, we haven't even seen Strange or Black Panther solo movies yet, and Namor is coming. Plus, they have the Netflix characters at their disposal if they really want to use them and DD and Punisher are big properties. So yeah, my vote is to move on without them, or within the continuity of the universe replace them without having to recast anyone.

I agree with punk. I despise recasting in every case except for an actor's death (for instance when Richard Harris died after the second Harry Potter), so I'd be fine with them writing the character out of the universe.

Marvel has such a huge catalog of characters to chose from. So rather than recast, I'd like to see new characters introduced. Problem is, I'm not sure if Captain Marvel & Namor will sell as many tickets as Cap & Iron Man do. It's gonna be interesting to see how they handle it when the time comes.
I didn't hate X-Men Apocalypse. But I did kinda hate Apocalypse himself. He was very tiny and not very intimidating. Would like to have seen him kill some mutants off. Would like for him to have grown. And I would like for his voice to be deeper and more menacing.
Brie Larson is the front runner to play Captain Marvel.
