Source: Lords Of Pain- It looks like there is some credibility to the rumors of WWE SummerSlam being a 4 hour pay-per-view this year. Luca Franchini, who does WWE announcing for Sky Italia in Italy, announced on Facebook that WWE informed the network that this year's SummerSlam will be 4 hours long, in order for them to prepare and make room for the extra hour. Franchini noted that SummerSlam is now scheduled to begin at 7pm EST instead of 8pm EST, pushing the Kickoff Pre-show up to 6pm EST. It's possible WWE will make the official announcement this week. We will keep you updated on any developments.

Cool. I'm attending Summerslam at the Barclays Center, so this will be cool if there are more good matches.

I did it first in #WWERyan, which you can check out over on the Sims Board, right here on WFigs. In all seriousness, though, I can get on board with this.

This honestly most likely means we'll get an in-ring segment and musical performance.
See: Kid Ink and the overly long Rock segment from WrestleMania 31

I hope: matches are given more time and there are more unique match-ups, ultimately giving us a show filled to the brim with exciting competition
I expect: something crapty with musical artist/in-ring thing with no real rhyme or reason/6 average-or-so matches and one real good one

It's nice that they are treating SummerSlam like something more than just a normal PPV again. SummerSlam is supposed to be a big deal and it should be four hours long.
They have like four weeks now to build up great story lines and make people want to see this show, so let's hope they achieve that and not just base the whole show on Taker vs. Brock.

It needs a surprise appearance from Jeremy Piven, at SummerFest!

If this means Lesnar/Taker is going to be an hour, it'd better be HIAC or NHB.

If it's used wisely, then I like this move. Thanks to the Network, it doesn't cost us anything more. So they can make it last all day for all I care.

Not sure how to feel about it really. In one way I'm all for it if the matches get the right amount of time. On the other hand if it means we get some crap like MGK doing a 30 minute set then I can really live without it.
