I went to the Hamilton Toy Show (40 minutes west of Toronto) to meet Jim Duggan and Jake Roberts. When my dad and I walked in, I immediately ran into yeetman13 and we chatted a bit. He mentioned to me how the guy handling the money at the door (this is where you pay for both admission and autograph tickets) screwed up with prices/autograph tickets. Turns out something similar would happen to me. I paid for the 2 autograph tickets at $15 each, and then the guy let us in for free.. he forgot to charge us admission lol.
We made our way to the side of the room that Jake and Jim were at. I approached Jim first who, like the last two times I met him, was very nice and talkative. He shook my hand and asked me if I watched the current product (he asked me the same question the last time I met him), to which I responded "yeah" and he then asked who my current favourite wrestlers. I told him I was a big fan of Ambrose. Duggan said that was interesting and then asked "ok... but who do you NOT like?!". I responded "that's a good question.. I don't even know!" He then started to sign my figure and asked if I wanted it personalized, which I did. He first signed the "To Alex" and stopped. He mentioned "wow! This is a really nice marker! This works great on these [action figures]!" I then told him that it was a paint marker and he continued to sign it. After he signed it, I thanked him and moved on to Jake. This was my third time meeting Jim, and all three times he was very friendly and loved to chat!
Jake was pretty quiet when I went up to him. He literally just signed my book and that's it. When I thanked him, he simply just nodded. I wouldn't say that he was mean or anything because I did notice that he was making jokes with other people, so he wasn't too bad. I had him sign the Snake Pit entry in the encyclopedia.
I then picked these up:
The Daniel Bryan and CM Punk basic figures were bought at the toy show for $5 each. The CM Punk and Miz flexforce figures were bought at a thrift store at $5 for both. I was able to get the John Cena elite at Wal-Mart for $9.94. I initially didn't want the Cena elite, but I noticed that this particular Wal-Mart had a specific shelf price tag for John Cena that said $19.94. Because prices went back up, I felt like they might have forgot to change that price tag. I was right, and it scanned at $22.94. The Scanning Code of Practice (a code that protects consumers from problems like this. If an item rings up higher than the shelf price tag, you get the item free as long as it is up to $10. If it is above $10, you get $10 off) I was able to get the Cena Elite for $9.94. I was not going to pass up a $10 elite!
Thanks for reading!
