Elite 37 Brock Lesnar comes with the new WWE Championship belt. It doesn't come with plates but instead is all rubber and the WWE design is painted on the belt like the Hardcore Championship (for those who didn't know). Now that we got that info out of the way....
We can not accept this. If they decide to make such a huge change like this it will lead to further changes to future action figures. I myself love how the Mattel championship belt are designed. With the plates added to all the belts, to the paint on the face of the belt. Every time I show off my collection, it is the belts that always gets the most attention from my guests. They just can't believe how detailed they are and how cool they look on the figures. When figuring out the Elite 37 Brock Lesnar was all rubber I have to say that I was some what disappointed. It looks decent but it would be perfect with the plates like the past belts.
I know they decided to do this in order to cut cost. People have accepted this belt for what it is, but it shouldn't be that way. First it starts with this belt, then what will be next they eliminate/change as accessories (elite 38 savage jacket, that's my opinion). Who knows what future figure you want that wont receive anything you expected it to come. I think a good way to save the quality and cost would maybe to cut one figure from the sets. So that instead of 6 figures we get 5; that all have great paint and accessories. Not for every set that comes out but a few where Bill wants certain accessories/deco.
With the prices of the figures going up (and I know Bill has no control of that) the figures should be perfect. I love my Mattel collection and I think the Belts should be the last thing to ever change.

This is annoying as Mattel cut costs, but the more annoying thing is that they increase the price of the figures also. I haven't got the belt in person but it sounds awful. I hope the Wrestlemania 31 Rollins hasn't got this version of the title as if it has the old title it may be the best figure to date. I guess a good thing is that the plastic shirts undo at the back which makes it look better and it makes it so much easier.

i wouldn't blame Bill if he stopped coming here. The sense of entitlement around here I s disturbing. Newsflash the cost of pretty much everything is going up, while those same things quality goes down.
And I will state what I stated in the other thread about this. I like how this belt looks, because it's more accurate to the real title belt. If I recall I don't think the real plates on the belts are double the thickness of the strap itself. But hey, what do I know.

My guess its cost cutting not realism. If that was the case, he may have defended it by now. Instead hes been a ghost since SDCC

It is disappointing. These things cost so much. It guarantees I won't be buying for belts anymore.

so they gave Brock the wrong style shirt, a new belt that doesn't fit him and its not even VAC metal like all the other belts?
is that whats happening here w/ e37?
also, how come ppl care enough to make topics....but never post pics of what they're talking about?

I hope this isn't what we've got to look forward to with the championship belts. They're part of the reason I got back into collecting. The detail Mattel had put into the figs, belts, etc. is the whole reason I got back into collecting these dolls but over the past year I've definitely noticed the the issues with quality control and cost cuts. I've like many others played with the idea of calling it quits because of said issues and price increases. Just can't quite walk away though because it feels like walking away from my childhood ha ha.

I get what OP's saying. These small annoyances become larger, more intrusive oversights and cut corners, like canceled lines and all Basic flashbacks. Honestly, Mattel Elites are on average, $21. How does that even out?

I really don't even care about the belt, they're just action figures. Really doesn't bother me, maybe they'll fix it down the road.

What about when the belt details become the details on the actual figures you do care about? They're just action figures, all I do is put them up for display. Again, I really don't even care about the belt ordeal. Haha.

I personally like it more. Well the strap could be longer.
1. The plates are too thick
2. Vac loses its luster and dulls. How many people on here have complained their gold is now silver and or looks dull.
3. The way the plates rest in the belt. The tabs in the back make the belt stick off the figure.
4. If it makes it easier to give us more belt... yes please.

Personally I like that style belt more. I purchased a few of those Target FlexForce 2-packs because they came with this styled titles. They fit the figures better because they don't have those awkward brackets behind the plates to clip into the belts. They actually wrap around the waist instead of square it up.

E37 Brock is barely different than the E30 or the big book fig if you have either of those, so for some people the belt was his selling point. It's not that it's even completely terrible, it's just cheap. We continue to pay more and get less, and are expected to just buy it and be happy. It isn't "entitlement", we are paying for these, and if they stop producing things the way I like them, I won't buy anymore, pretty simple.

We have to take a stand. They started this in 2011, giving us dull belts, everyone revolted and they went back to the shiny belts. We need to do the same thing now. This is unacceptable. Prices are higher than ever and we shouldn't stand for this level of cost management.
