My luck today was out of this world... literally! It was in the Fifth Dimension. It was to the point where I may have found the cosmic key..
A few days ago, Stardust tweeted this:
Living just a few kilometers away from the hospice, Emily's House, I knew I had to take the chance to go and meet him.
Then... I found that Stephen Amell would be at the hospice as well:
I've only heard of Amell through the show Arrow, and of course, through WWE. Not having any Amell merch, I had two 8x10 photos printed the other day, hoping I could meet Amell and get them signed as well.
So today, I woke up at 8 in the morning (this was a struggle as I'm still summer vacation mode) and left at 9:30. My dad dropped me off at where Stardust would be. Stardust was to personally donate/givethe cheque of the earnings from the Amell/Summerslam tshirt campaign. I got there at around 9:45.
5 minutes later.. A black car pulls up. I took a quick look at who was in the front seat... A guy with facepaint?! It was him! My luck was unbelievable as i barely had to wait to meet him! His driver parked and exited the vehicle to ask where the proper spot to park is as there really isn't any parking. As he did so, Stardust remained in the car, and I approached it.
Window up, I showed him the Elite, and smiled. He rolled his window down and asked how I was. He happily signs my elite:
I told him that I was a big fan and he said that he appreciated it. I told him that I have a few more items I'd like to get signed. I pulled them out and he was happy to sign them as Cody Rhodes.
After he signed them, I asked for a picture with him. Again, he was happy to do it and asked me to lean over. He also made sure the picture turned out good by asking "how'd we do?". I decided to post the picture here, but blocked myself out.. I just wanted you guys to see the gist of the environment (for the lack of a better word).
After the picture, I thanked him and apologized for having to approach him this way, considering that it wasn't an actual signing. He said that it was no problem and that it was nice to meet me. Finally, his driver came back, and had to move the car. As the car was pulling away, Stardust quickly waved at me. Really cool guy!
Thing is... The driver only had to move the car like a few meters away from where it originally was. I had also brought my encyclopedia, so I decided I'd wait around and try to get that signed. Still also needed to get Amell to sign my photos.
I waited for about another hour. As I was waiting, three taxis pulled up. Thought that was interesting..
At around 11, Stephen Amell came out of the building. I pulled out my 8x10s. He saw them, approached me, and said "hey buddy!". I said hello to him and asked him to sign. Like Stardust, he was happy to do so. Unfortunately, my green paint marker didn't come out like I had hoped, but I can't complain.. I was lucky enough to meet him as well.
He also posed for a picture with me. After the picture, he said "thanks Alex!", shook my hand, and got into a taxi.
After I got Amell to sign my photos, Stardust also came out. I approached him and asked him to sign my encyclopedia. I thanked him once again, to which he responded: "thanks buddy!". They then broke kayfabe and used the same taxi. I overheard where they were going. They were going to the SickKids hospital in Downtown Toronto.
A success overall! 5 autographs from Stardust/Cody Rhodes, 2 autographs from Stephen Amell, and photo-ops for both! All I had to pay was the cost of getting the photos printed!
Thanks for looking!
