Source: Wrestling Inc. Full interview: slam.canoe.com/Slam/Wrestling/2015/09/18/22553118.htmlI'm glad Kevin Owens discussed this because I really think John Cena didn't hurt Kevin Owens in anyway after winning the feud. If Kevin Owens was in the place people really think he's in, then Owens would be on Superstars and not Raw or Smackdown.

Plus, there is a chance that Owens will win the Intercontinental Championship sooner rather than later, so at least the writers aren't just throwing him to the wayside. If the man himself thought that working with Cena helped him a lot more than hurt him, who are we to judge? Besides, those were some of the best matches all year.
Owens may never be a big main event star with the people in charge, but I definitiely see him dominating the upper midcard for a while as long as the company keeps their faith in him.

He said the right things so he doesn't get Ziggler'd, any one thinking anything else is delusional.
And to the person above me, the IC belt is trash, that is throwing Kevin Owens away. Jobber belt goes on jobbers.

Like he is going to come out and say anything bad about Cena. He is just protecting his job. That feud destroyed Owens. The dude is so lost in the shuffle now just like every other John Cena burial that up and coming stars has suffered from.
They had a PERFECT opportunity to have Owens win 1 match, Cena win the other and Owens wins the US title in the 3rd. That would have MADE Owens, but instead, Cena drops the title to a guy who is already the WWE champion, and Owens is feuding with random mid carders. Nobody wins.

Saying negative things about Cena is literally destroying any chance you have of succeeding in the company. Not even Reigns would get away with that. To me, that feud was just another case of Cena winning a feud just like he will when he beats Rollins tomorrow. At least it wasn't as bad as what Cena had just done to Rusev.

Owens has already become just another generic mid-card heel since his feud with Cena.

"Who the hell does Owens think he is judging his own career and accomplishments!?"
I enjoyed the Owens/Cena feud. Would like to have seen Owens come out on the winning end, but I'm not going to let it bother me. I find wrestling is much more enjoyable when you don't get all hung up on the winners and the losers. And just judge it based on the quality of the matches and the story lines.

I don't even think Owens' problem is that he feuded with Cena. He debuted against THE guy and that was only going to help him win or lose. The problem is how they've handled him after the feud. They still have him going against one of their most over stars though, so that counts for something. I'm hoping he does win the Intercontinental championship in the next month or two so that Ryback can move onto bigger and better things.

Owens was never going to come out on the winning end because they rely way too heavily on Cena. Once Cena starts losing his feuds, he looks weaker and interest will fade because the superhero the kids look up to, is no longer as good as he was. I don't agree with him tapping out, although it -sorta- worked for his character, just getting away from the problem but then he looks like a guy who talks to much crap and isn't good enough to back it up. It's hard. WWEs lack of stars just makes it a lose-lose for so many involved.

Some upcoming house shows have Ryback vs Rollins as the main event... If Rollins hangs onto the title tomorrow, he needs new challengers. He's fought Ambrose tons, he's fought Reigns enough for this year, he's done the Cena thing. The only guys left are Brock (part-time), Bryan (inactive) and The Big Guy. So I can see Ryback getting another PPV title shot this year.

I've admitted that hanging tough with Cena was big for Owens.
But just hanging tough with Cena isn't enough. Had he gone over, he would have been something completely different and a major player. He didn't and now he's just another mid-card heel.

If so, I could see Seth retaining the US and the WWE Title and Ryback retaining the IC Title and Seth trying to be the first to win all 3 titles at one time. A Ryback vs. Seth feud would be good for Seth - something different. And be great for Ryback to get him away from that Big Show feud he had. And it would make the IC Title seem legit again if the WWE Champion was out for it.

There was no way they were going to have Owens win clean over Cena just for Cena to move onto Rollins and the WWE championship. Perfect scenario would to have had Rollins cost Cena the match helping Owens win the 3rd match up. Owens would be US champion, came out on the winning end of the feud, and Cena would have an excuse to move onto Rollins instead.

All he did with this statement was prove he's not an idiot.
Does anyone with even a shred of sense think the WWE wouldn't find a way to get rid of him if he started openly and loudly badmouthing Cena and the writers to anyone who'll listen?

Smart man but that line about wins/losses don't matter cause the match quality that sounds like some b.s straight out of Vince/HHH mouth
