So, i'm moving to Newcastle tommorow for uni, and i need some advice on collecting.. And anyone who's been through this situation feel free to give tips haha Firstly, would it be better to order online or physically go in store ( anyone who lives in Newcastle- how do buses work? Like in London we obviously have oyster cards... But in Newcastle do you pay when you get on telling the driver where you need to go? Or is it a fixed rate...etc) Secondly, how the do i transport figures back home LOL, i could order them online and have them delivered home so when i get home in December i'll have loads of packages but im really impatient and like i would need to see the figure(paint job)/ open them asap ygm Thirdly, whats the best smyths store or any toy store with wwe figures in Newcastle? I don't mind making the journey as I will have loads of spare time Also if there's anyone who collects figures on a very tight budget (e.g Student Loan) then any tips are great tips atm haha Lastly, WhT is Newcastle like?!!! Hopefully everyons friendly! Sorry for the super long post!!!!

When I was at uni( I only stayed for a few months) I used to bring them back to my room. If you don't want anybody to know just make sure the bag isn't transparent and then store them in your draw or something.

Smyths is out at the Team Valley shopping area, great store there! Also got in the town Forbidden Planet, Fenwicks and Argos off the top of my head. May be more now mind you, not been to Geordie land in a while!

Smyths is definitely the best option. As Ben said there's one at the Team Valley but also another closer to Newcastle itself in Wallsend. Forbidden Planet is a no go now because they have had literally zero WWE related stuff for ages. In the centre of Newcastle you have a dedicated wrestling store which is a little pricy for new figures but good for US exclusives and loose figures. There are also 2 Argos stores. A short bus ride away (and there are at least 7 or 8 buses that run this route) is the Metrocentre where you can find another Argos and a Toys R Us. Asda is there too as they sometimes have the Wal-Mart T-shirt series in. Oh yeah, back in Newcastle on the main shopping street is the gigantic department store that is Fenwick. They usually get new stuff in quickly too. I've been there like a hundred times and still manage to get a little lost so good luck in there. The buses aren't exactly straight forward in Newcastle. You have 3 main companies, Go North East, Stagecoach and Arriva all operating different fares. I use Go North East because they're the one who operate between Newcastle and Gateshead (which includes Metrocentre and Team Valley.) The Smyths in Wallsend for example is only reachable with Stagecoach. I think all companies have their version of this so the best option ticket wise is a Day Ticket if you plan to have multiple trips (Go North purple day ticket, which I use, for £4.85 will get you unlimited trips within Newcastle city centre and the borough of Gateshead, which is a huge area itself.) Best go with single trips at first though since I imagine you'd still be settling in. That's all I can come up with for now but I'm always knocking about on here if you need more help in future. EDIT: Just had a look on the Nexus travel site, which covers all services. Seems that as a student you could get a weekly travel pass for about £20 and that will get you everywhere on everything. There are options for monthly passes and term ones too. Nexus Ticket Info

I think Gav has given you a comprehensive run down of most things. I live in the North East, went to university in Sunderland and now work in Sunderland so know the area well. The nightlife in Newcastle is phenomenal, there's loads to do, loads of bars, restaurants, you name it. Sunderland's nightlife ain't bad either, cheap as chips on student nights. I regret not collecting through uni simply because of all the stuff I missed out as I ironically only starting collecting last year after graduation. I don't see it being a problem transporting them if they are loose, could be a problem if you keep them MOC. Probably should be a bit picky on what you buy too and don't pay no daft scalper prices, as not to blow vital beer money on figures
