What's good guys, what lights do you use in your DETOLF shelves? Want to make my display a little cooler and with some re-arranging/lighting I think that would do the trick. Cheers for any suggestions!

LED DIODER LIGHTS. $19.99 for 4 strips through ikea. I stuck with the standard non-color changing ones. Never had an issue

Ikea has the lighting strips, I personally like them better because that way you can have a light for each shelf.

@shockwayne First off, I love your displays, seriously one of the best and a testament to less is more. I have a few questions about your lighting as im looking to get some led strips. With the strips on your DM display, are there strips at the front and back of each shelf? Are there wires? If so how did you hide them? Are they in the ikea Dioder range or something different? Cheers

i wish i hd pictures for you guys, i'll work on it today.. the best option for lighting is bar far OTTLIGHT bulbs.. 100% not only is there tremedous amount of lumens, but for example their 25 watt bulb is equivalent to a normal 64 watt bulb, and the best part is the Light is pure BRIGHT WHITE no yellow hue, and no blue hue, i originally purchased a desktop lamp from costco that is made by ottlight and comes with their 12 watt bulb, i was amazed by how powerful it is and how much it lights up my bedroom especially at night time, even when the main ceiling recessed bulbs are off... so i replaced all my bulbs with OTTLIGHT, its funny because when driving down my block at night, if my lights are on in my bedroom, through the big windows from outside in street my room looks like it is pure daytime like a perfect sunny cloudless sky... LOVE IT LOVE IT.. their bulbs would look aesthetically beautiful in that shelf system which is very modern and sharp btw.. i like it. check out the ottlight website, tons of lamps, and different size / structures ( recommend TULIP desk Lamp, best value & u will be amazed by Light output & color) .. and the website also offer simply just their own Bulbs from 10 or 12 watt ( = 25 ) up to 25 (= 65 or 75) example of desklamp's effect on figure : old camera phone & must stronger bulbs available this lamp uses weakest the light is much farther away, then it would be in ur shelf setup.. happy to share my unhealthy love of OTTLIGHT with all of you, ps if ur gonna buy anything from their website, sign up to email list, as they send coupons often

Cheers Thanks! There are 16 total strips per display - 8 in the front, 8 in the back. The are LED DIODER lights (the regular ones that don't change color) - there are TONS of cords, and that was the biggest pain for setup.. Used Velcro to lines them up on the back and black electrical tape to hide the white cords and tape them to the frame of the display. Keep N mind the electrical tape randomly falls off over time so you'll find yourself re-sticking several every so often. Not a big deal tho haha

Thanks for the response, hmmm, I've got a glass detolf so I'm wondering if two spotlights, top & bottom, would be enough so the light travels through the glass shelves? Or do you need the extra ones under each glass shelf?
