I mean, honestly, it would be good for the roster, good for the product, and good for him. The guy has a ton of mileage on him and works his ass off. Honestly I think everyone on the roster should get a few months scheduled off just for mental and physical recovery.

Every time John Cena takes time off, it's only for a week.

I think that a few months off here or there would do wonders for guys like him, Orton, Show, Sheamus, etc. It keeps them fresh physically and allows them to be less stale on TV.
Howevee, with ratings the way they are, I doubt Cena misses time.

Unless they've got a huge hotshot planned, Cena isn't going anywhere. If that's the plan now, it will change because of the ratings.

So Demon Kane takes John out at HIAC, and we get Embrace the Hate 2.0 once he returns?
Wait, what's supposed to happen to the US Championship? Surely he's not dropping it just after he won the thing back. Does the article refer to house shows only?

Every time John Cena takes time off, it's only for a week. Or less than a week.

Big Show wins the US Title at Hell in a Cell from Cena.
Cena leaves to come back at Royal Rumble when Football season is over - thus spiking the ratings for Raw. When in fact the ratings go up then because football season is over.
Hulk Hogan did the same thing in WCW each year. So when the ratings went back up, it looked like Hogan did it, but it's because the NFL is done for the year.

Im still trying to figure out if this is legit.
Surely he isn't losing the US title to Rollins Saturday......
They wouldn't have had Seth drop it back if this was the plan...

Every time John Cena is off TV, it just means things will be 100x worse than before when he actually does return.

Some sites are saying he's taking time off for "personal reasons".
Injury that he's been working through? Cover up for a suspension? Is he finally putting a ring on Nikki and they are going on a honeymoon?
Who knows. WWE is short on star power and can't afford to lose another top star. You can't use Sting right now, and Brock and Undertaker probably won't wrestle for a while after Hell in a Cell.....so you really don't have much.
The Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde story with Kane and Seth Rollins isn't going to be enough to get the ratings up or put asses in the seats, so without John Cena, expect the horrible ratings and low WWE Network subs to continue to get worse.
