I was just looking through my collection and I have over 100 figures I have gathered in the last year and it really got me thinking. I am going to have to downsize to make room for all the new figures I am wanting to buy. When I first started collecting I promised myself I would only buy one of each superstar but that has failed. I picked up RSC Bret but then I figure I needed the DM Bret to go with Legends Bulldog, then along came WMXXX Bret. Now I have managed to fill an Ikea Detolf cabinet, even the bottom. I haven't got room to get another so I am going to have to sell some figures to make way for the new. So my question is, where do I start? I don't think I could bring myself to sell doubles that I have come to love such as E19 HBK and WMXXX30 HBK. Then I have figures of wrestlers I was never a fan of such as Piper and Sheik. My collection wouldn't feel complete without them though. Do I clear out some of my newer superstars such as Sheamus and Mark Henry? They have played such a big part in WWE history now though that I need at least one of them in my collection.
What are your thoughts with downsizing and how have you gone about it?

Na, don't downsize your collection, upsize your display lol I wish I had the room to. This is what I have done in a year. I am looking to pick up the APA, E38 Macho, E39 Bulldog, Sting, Sid and Godfather and 20+ figures from RSF.

Looks awesome. But I see what you mean. Have you seen those tiered shelves people use in the cabinets? Not sure where they were from though. They make use of the height on each level

I have 400+ figures I want to sell and I want to keep about 20. I'm currently making the pictures and classifieds post now. That's my thoughts about downsizing.

I want to get rid of a lot, but selling is a hassle.

I have to get rid of some loose figures sometimes to make room for new stuff

I'm in the same boat man, it's tough knowing who or what to get rid of I'm trying to significantly cut mine down from about 120 to (hopefully) around 50, not only for the sake of space, but so I can save myself money in the long run, and so I can have a small, concise collection of figures that I absolutely love

I have thought about it. But then I realized that I would never have the figures I had if I wanted them back. I will regret selling them off.

I've downsized twice and my only regret was buying those figures in the first place. For example, I bought the first Shield elites because their gimmick was cool and they seemed really popular. After a year or so of them sitting there, I just felt like they were wasting space. I got no joy out of them. Now I only collect figures I want not simply figures that look cool. At the end of the day, most coolness wears off and only nostalgia lasts (for me at least). Figures like LOD not only look cool but are exactly how I remember them as a kid. I want figures like that on my shelf.

On the Detolf shelves, can you fit more than 20 figures?? Even if you have tiered shelves, would 20 still be the limit??
My idea of downsizing is to only collect specific shiny VAC Championship Title Belts and even that’s getting out of hand.

I stopped collecting current stars because there was no room to display them with my legends. Legends come first.

I almost never downsize. I'm pushing the 500 WWE figure mark. When i do feel the need to trim some fat, i generally just give those figures to my kids. I've been running out of space in the last year. My solution to keep things fresh,.has been to rotate figures in and out of the display. Its worked out great for me,plus its fun to have an excuse to get in there and do the closest thing to playing with the bastards as i can......deciding where everyone should go, wht themes I'm going to display them as, posing some etc.....its turned into kind of a hobby within a hobby.

I do that - not rotating them in and out, but I'm always looking at them and thinking of new ways to position them. I rearrange them about once a week.

I don't really mind having a big collection as long as I don't have too many figures of the same person.
