I looked at my whole WWE Mattel collection (loose) this past weekend. A thought popped in my head in which I imagined what it would have looked like to keep all of my figures in their package.
Questions:
How do you keep you collection (storage, wall, closet)?
How do you decide which figures to keep MOC or to open up to keep loose (if you even open figures up)?
When new figures get released how do you compensate adding your new figure with the old one?
P.S. I give it up to all the MOC collectors. My first Mattel figure ever was Legends Stone Cold (when first released). I kept that figure in MOC for 2 month since I wanted to start my new collection that way. After that time I couldn't take it any more. I opened it up and displayed it that very second.
Last question:
How are you able to keep your collection in MOC form without the urge to open them up?

I have a mix of loose and MOC. Most of the elites I have bought are MOC except for the one that I bought loose. Right now, all my MOC figures are lined up on top of these DVD shelves I have. I have over 3000 movies/tv shows so I have about 9 elites and 1 DM Sting lining the top. I also have 3 basic figures which I haven't opened yet and 3 battle packs lined up. It all takes over 1 wall. I have been looking into displaying the loose figures somehow in the man cave so I am sure some of the MOC ones will be opened as well. I may keep the RS exclusives and DM in MOC but eventually open the rest. I was thinking if I have a crappy day at work or something, I can come home and make myself feel better by opening a figure. I have the urge to open them but I just don't. Right now, it is mostly due to the fact that I have about 45 loose figures and they are not displayed. They are just piled up in a box which is something that I hate. I want to figure out how to properly display them. However, I do like the MOC figures and it gives the collection a good look.

Thanks for letting me know your info. I figured I'd never get anybody to answer this question of mine.

My loose collection is for my son. He beats them up, so I keep an extra moc if it's one of my favorite wrestlers/attire. I keep mine in storage. We don't do multiples of the same wrestler except macho man so I have to decide to buy the new one or not and if I do I usually sell off or gift the old one.

1. I hang mine on my wall in sequential order of series. 2. I only open battle packs because they take up more space, but I buy a lot of loose figures at lower than retail rates. 3. I don't compensate. If there's a figure I want, I buy it. 4. I never have the urge to open figures because I do buy a lot of loose figures. So that fills that void for me.

I hang mine on shelves and tack them on the wall. No real order but I try to stack the boxes to whatever is the most visibly pleasing. I buy flashbacks and elite versions of my favorite characters. And if I want to open it badly enough I'll get multiples

I'm the same way as most, but if I want to keep it MOC enough I'll get multiples. Few occasions I've bought 3 figures; one for display, one for playing, and one for MOC. I'm a loose display collector. I keep most my MOCs tacked to the walls with no real order. I've tried hoarding MOCs only for a bit, but got the itch to open one. A little later I have a few garbage bags full of boxes...

I used to keep all the figures MOC, but I was low on space, so I opened up the basics and normal Elites. I do still have the packages, but just put them in a box in the basement. The figures I still have MOC are the RSC exclusive and special editions and whatnot like the WM 30 HBK and Bret. For me, I decide to keep a figure MOC if the packaging adds to the overall item. For example, the TRU Seth and Cena and a special package for them, so I will look to keep them MOC.

When I used to collect moc: 1. Pinned to my bedroom wall 2. I used to open basics and keep elites moc because the elites had cool packaging 3. I just had multiple figures of each guy on my wall 4. I ended up opening them

After a while the amount of space they take up is quite bothersome. I also like playing with my figures so having them loose is good.

Maybe only keep a few still MOC. I definitely agree about taking up a lot of space. It's ridiculous!

No urge to open at all, once I open a figure, I end up losing interest then I end up selling it

I'm about half and half. I love how some look MOC but I get the urge to open and display them also. When I move into a house next summer, more than likely all but a few will be opened for posing competitions...

I'd estimate about 75% of what I usually buy I intend to open. But I do have a growing MOC collection, 24 Elites and a few basics. They are neatly stacked in my closet now because I don't have a good place to display them. Most of the figures are special edition or exclusives (WM Heritage, TRU Exclusives/BAF series, Defining Moments, etc.) Others I just found to look awesome in the box.
I really don't feel the urge to open them, though I do buy doubles on occasion to open one. Actually, I get more of a rush from looking at/holding one of my MOC figures than using an open one.

I only have Moc hogans b/c I want to get them signed. But other than that I don't understand the enjoyment of MOC figs. That's just me.
