So... Is Sasha Banks the best heel currently in the company? If not, who and why? I feel bad for posting an NXT(ish) thread when there are already several others up, but while watching Takeover it kind of hit me that Sasha might be the best heel in the company. General points: -terrorized Bayley's "biggest fan" bringing her to tears (and stealing her bow!) -sub point: This just feels really "old school" to me, and very few legitimately commit or pull it off. -uses several underhanded tactics including hair-pulling, eye-gouging, stomping hands, manipulates ropes, ecct. -understands heel ring psychology in terms of working body parts in brutal ways (slamming Bayley's hand in the steps).
-mic work feels personal, genuine, and serious (often heel work comes across as inside smarmy jokes). -body language illustrates a lack of respect for opponents. Thinking of other notable heels... Authority: Basically come across as tweeners right now. Seth Rollins: A very good heel, but due to several conditions, he doesn't feel like a legit threat--or he comes across as a bit of a buffoon. Bray Wyatt: Sadly, very stale... too few high profile wins, and when he's on top of his game he's kind of too likable. Almost a Magneto "well, he's a villain, but he's kind of right" situation Rusev: Borderline comedy act. I think he's improved a lot over the last 6 months though. Bella's: Decent enough.. did their job in the end once they figured out that they needed to be more heelish (seem confused on whether they were face, tweener, or heel). Paige: Too early in heel run to see how it's going to work, but decent enough start. Kane: Is he the babyface or is Rollins? Like... kinda serious. Big Show: Eh... he's just not believable as a heel anymore. He does his job perfectly fine, but the writers have killed him. New Day: Might also be too likable. Kevin Owens: Might be the only threat to Sasha in my eyes right now... He's mean, believable, committed, and tough. In the general defense of most heels acts.. it's hard to get and keep heat anymore. People like rooting for the bad guy, which often puts them in this weird purgatory. The Kevstaaa @bashcrashwiley

No. Everyone loves her. People nowadays seem to forget that a good heel is HATED by EVERYONE. I honestly can't say that there is a single good heel in the WWE.

I love Sasha because she does the role so well. Watching her at TakeOver: Respect had me legit gasping and thinking holy s#!t this is awesome when no action was taking place. Nowadays heels might say something mean to a kid or call the fans morons and that's it. But actually taking something from a fan, mocking them and then throwing it back at them is something I haven't seen in a while and made it so fresh. She is one of the best if not the best. However on the main roster she probably won't be allowed to do as much. In today's world where people get offended at everything, the heels can't do anything really bad.

I agree.I LOVE sasha Banks but she's not being booed by the audience like she should be.Theres so much respect for sasha that people just refuse to boo her.I mean Eva Marie gets legit Heat by mostly everyone all Eva has to do is just stand in the middle of the ring and not doing anything and people would boo the crap out of her.

With Kayfabe being on life support, it's hard being a heel, because most are cheered because they're awesome. As well as most faces, a heel is someone who the fans legitimately don't like because of whatever the reason may be, so if going by that, it's Eva Marie, but again, that's hard to judge because there are people who are bigger bungholes/bitches because they are good at it, so that in my eyes is Miz, but he's not anywhere near being top heel because of his placement on the card. Even with heel gimmicks, like Breeze, people still cheer him, because he's good at what he does in the ring, it's because the fans know so much, and as much as I love UpUpDownDown, and things like that, seeing heels on there being themselves, EVEN Stardust, takes away from the heel feeling,(but I love UpUpDownDown so I'm okay with it).
It's really difficult nowadays, so it's a hard thing to figure out who the top heel is, but Sasha has too much of a following because she's awesome, it's hard for her to be a real heel, like Ziggler in 2012-2013 before his turn.

I like Sasha but I can barely stand Seth so I'd consider him to be a better heel.

Sasha trys to play a heel but that don't work when everybody loves her and you got her hugging and crying at the end of a match with someone who she Hates and has bullied for so long
Its like "im a heel" *wink wink
Now Eva Marie thats 100% heel I'm suprised her face don't melt from the heat

I love Sasha. She plays a heel character. But the crowd chants "We want Sasha!" But I say Rollins because I think Rollins gets great heel heat.

She's good but she's not given enough spotlight to be considered the best. The best heel in WWE is Seth Rollins. However, I think Randy Orton would still play the best heel.

Rollins is the best heel in WWE, followed by Kevin Owens. Beyond that, I'd probably lean towards Miz. Seriously go check Facebook if you want a barometer of how casual fans can't stand Rollins, it's quite hilarious, but also makes me question the hope for humanity. I would love to say New Day, but their heel act has gotten over so massively huge with the fans it's impossible to boo them imo. Sasha is kind of in that same place with the crowd cheering for her because WWE hasn't done what they should with her so far on the main roster, to no fault of her own.
All that being said, Izzy crying was phenomenal. I think mostly all of us can appreciate Sasha's heel work in that match. She kind of threw it all out the window by breaking kayfabe once it was over, again, but she's the total package and knows how to work her gimmick to its full potential. I think she'll end up being more of a tween when she does face Charlotte for the title, hopefully come Mania.

I'd say yes.
She got massive heat when she stole the headband.

I'd say she is in the running. Owens & Rollins are up there as well.

She's up there, but I'd say Kevin Owens. He loves to be hated.

From a personal standpoint, I love Bayley and Sasha's post-match stuff, just because they both seem like such genuine people with an incredible love for the business. Within the confines of the company, though, I realize it's probably not the best thing for Sasha's character. With that being said, when she's on, she's on. Her work during that match was some of the best heel work I've seen this year. Rollins is sort of in a different category, though. It's hard to compare the two, given their vast differences in exposure.

I'd say she's third behind Rollins & Owens. Her work at Takeover the other day was cracking though.

My take on the WWE's ''heels'', though to me that term is all but dead. Excuse me ahead of time for rambling a bit.
I got Owens as the best of the best, but his hands are tied in the WWE environment. If you let him go though, he could get people to attack him everywhere he went lol. Dude can be as mean as anybody walking god's green earth. I think him and Cena should've traded a win and wrestled to a time limit draw in the 3rd match, i'm still mad he lost twice.
Sasha can work for sure, high IQ wrestler. I just wish she wouldn't have broken Kayfabe!!!I love her psychology though. In a different era, she would be even better. Wrestling today is more of a wink wink ''were putting on a show for you'' kind've thing sadly.
Miz had good heat and i think he's an excellent mid carder. That world title reign was an abomination though, especially considering they killed all of his credibility off right afterwards. He's lost way too much in recent years to be a threat again, WWE booking.
Eva has a chance to be over big when she gets the chance.
Xavier is very annoying, but in a good way. Not go away heat, but grate on your nerves heat.
Dolph Ziggler is a lot more interested in being cool and putting on a show ( i know he's a face now)
Rusev is dead and buried after being in a soap opera storyline. Imagine if they did that to the Iron Sheik!
Seth Rollins tries, but to me the dude is a babyface. I don't care how old fashioned it sounds, that's a babyface's moveset. I disliked heel Jomo for the same reason. As a face, i might even warm up to him.
Last but not least....The Authority! Tweeners. I think they want to maintain a good public image, but still sort of be heels. Shame, heel HHH is amazing imo.
