Hey everyone. There was a thread a few days back regarding what your Mattel Holy Grail was, in terms of a figure you didn't yet have. I said mine was any Mattel Roddy Piper. Well, thanks to an Amazon gift card, and Sunday package delivery, I finally have one... Now, I get that buying from Amazon is a gamble when you're dealing with figures. You're not guaranteed pristine quality. However, as long as the card wasn't totally trashed and the bubble wasn't halfway off, I was satisfied. My Walmart (and those I've checked elsewhere) hadn't had t-shirt Roddy. Online was my only choice, and I'm happy with it, even as an MOC guy. Sure, this particular figure has paint flaws on the face, and the back of the upper arms, but I don't mind. The only thing I wish they could've done, if they knew they were going to make a Superstar Entrances Piper, is put a logo on the back of his shirt. If they knew they were using a card with a rear window, they could've at least put something to see. Oh well. I now officially have each of my three childhood heroes MOC, with each toy company that offered their WWF/E figures - Ric Flair, Roddy Piper, and Mr. Perfect. Since I don't want to be posting a second thread, as a bonus, here are the three of them fron each company: HasbroJAKKSMattel (I also have the DM & Horseman Pack Flairs) I know never say never - but seeing as I'm running out of room - if I were to stop collecting tomorrow; I'd be pretty happy. Thanks for looking!

I love Piper, not a fan of basics. But that T-shirt Hot Rod might be one of the best display pieces, provided he has all his teeth.

That's awesome dude! Piper is one of my top pieces in my collection too! I was just watching him on Celebrity Ghost stories. Man, I miss that guy.

Very cool. You know there was a basic Perfect released some time ago in yellow, the carding would go a little better with your basic Flair and Piper basics. But it's cool to see all 3 figs from the different companies.

But it's cool to see all 3 figs from the different companies. I know. Originally, I just set out to get their first figures. That was blown after my fiancee surprised me with two additional Flairs (WM 8 & 4H). After Piper passed, the Walmart Entrance figure was the most reasonably priced (and had his trademark shirt). So yeah...a little lopsided, but one of each is pretty cool.

Awesome pickup! Piper's been one of my top wants since I got back into collecting, and now that he's sadly no longer with us, that want has tripled. I am not huge on basics, but this is one of the better ones admittedly, though I'm more of a fan of the Legends 2-pack with Bob Orton, though he didn't have a shirt. Still, I love it!

Wish I would've picked that up when I seen it at Wal-Mart numerous times, just didn't like the look of it but now I would just love to have it in my collection...

I got that Piper from Asda a few weeks before his death. It's an AWESOME! figure. My holey grail is probably Elite 30 Batista because of the amazing tattoo deco, but my most sentimental figure is series 21 Mason Ryan.

It's official: the term Holy Grail has lost all luster.
Your grail is something readily available for the masses and thousands of Walmart stores in North America.
Aim for the sky and settle for the ceiling friend.
Either that, or stop using aforementioned term.

First of all, I was referring to a term used in a previous thread posted by another member. Secondly, when you factor in that not everyone has the money to regularly be buying figures (especially for a figure limited to one chain store, that may or may not stock that particular figure at the time you try and find it), that figure would indeed be a Holy Grail to that person.
