Reigns needs a singles heel run. Thats just the way the business works.
Look at every big name in the last 20 years.
Austin Rock HHH Brock Lesnar Cena Edge Orton CM Punk Daniel Bryan
All these guys went through that heel transition period where they "found" themselves and the fans ended up getting behind them and organically turned them face. If history repeats itself, Itll be Seth Rollins who makes the next crossover and a huge part of me thinks this is what WWE is secretly trying to do.
They are trying to skip that phase with Reigns for some reason. The guy they are trying to have Reigns clone into went through the 2003/04 heel rapper gimmick so they are missing a HUGE step in his character development.

The talent in the WWE is being given a set of guidelines to follow. It is up to the performer to run with it and turn chicken **** into chicken salad. Roman Reigns' promo from this past Monday is merely a guy trying to turn that **** into salad. Reigns was given such poor material. The crowd in Rosemont, Illinois decided to go into business for themselves. It isn't justified how the crowd in Philadelphia booed Reigns at the Royal Rumble. I am going to get a lot of heat for this but I don't care. Wrestling fans (mainly the hardcore) clamor for new top level guys. It isn't up to the fans who decide who should be the top draw. It is up to the machine to give those guys the shot. Let me put this into perspective for everybody. When John Cena got hired, Jim Ross told Vince McMahon this guy is going to main event WrestleMania in five years. McMahon being the person who he is, laughed at Ross. Look at how Cena became a household name since being signed 15 years ago. Another good example is Randy Orton. When Nightmare Danny Davis appeared on Kim Cornette's podcast, Davis mentioned that McMahon too wasn't high on Orton because of how he left the military. Like Cena, Randy Orton became a household name. All thanks to the machine giving them the chance. Hell, I remember both Orton and Cena weren't well received when they debuted. Going back to Roman Reigns. The machine wants new guys to market. Cena is nearing the twilight of his career and Orton want's to reduce his workload. Reigns is being poised to be the next WWE Champion. The machine and the fans have to give him the chance to exceed expectations. I do agree that Reigns shouldn't be cutting 5-15 minute long promos. A promo that is less than five minutes is sufficient for Reigns. As I alluded to earlier, Reigns is being give incredibly bad material that doesn't mesh well with his persona. The crowd doesn't do anybody favors on the main roster. Being given bad material is one of many things hindering progression. As far as being at the arena, nobody is pointing a gun to their head to go. The whole premise of attending a wrestling event is to have a good time and be entertained. The fans draw the line when they entertain themselves and making themselves look foolish. Much like how these fans cat call performers at the Hall of Fame. But that is the problem with the current product. They ARE NOT giving anybody that chance to be a big star. Austin, Rock, even Cena all became big stars because they we're already over and then got the big push. it's simple logic. I know it is a different era but did you ever see anybody boo Austin in any arena? of course not cause he was over and everyone liked him. There have been tons and tons of wrestlers that we're way more over with the crowd and never got the opportunity that they are giving Reigns who isn't even over yet. They force things instead of letting it happen organically. Austin got over organically, so did rock and hbk and taker etc. Cena hasn't been over in a decade and Reigns has never been over as a singles wrestler. Wait til people love someone first and then pull the trigger. it's an easy concept they keep blowing The WWE is giving their talent such poor material to work with. I see it in both Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. The reason the fans universally accepted Steve Austin as THE guy is because he was what everybody wanted to do to their boss. Essentially, the wwF fans were living vicariously through Austin. Roman Reigns was over during his run with The Shield. It was a huge benefit that Reigns was protected. One serious issue with Reigns is his weaknesses are being exposed. I have to disagree with you on John Cena. Cena is just as over now as he was in 2003/2004. The WWE's problem is they tend to push certain guys for a few months, make them red hot, cool them down, and try to heat them up again. Trying to reheat a guy usually never works. It is why guys like Dolph Ziggler have remained stagnant for the last few years. You can't have start-stop-start pushes. Going back to Reigns again. What he needs is to have serious promos that matches with his character/persona. It is sad how the WWE expects Reigns to connect when he is given such terrible material to recite to a live crowd. Reigns is in the wrong place, at the wrong time. Had Reigns came along a decade ago, he would have been better received. The way the WWE has handled their newer crop of talent is sad. I really hope the WWE wakes the **** up, and give talent material that not only works but can get the fans invested on that performer.

The crowd pissed me off more than Reigns promo I really hate smark crowds and tell me do they go to enjoy themselves or be idiots?
Also why shout Husky Harris? It was a short lived gimmick which was 5 years ago. If they can't shout proper chants then they should just sit there and shut up.

Personally I hold WWE responsible for the bad segment last Monday. Its the creative team who is forcing Roman to find his inner Rock (as JR had once said) instead of giving him his own identity. Roman needs better direction than hes been getting since leaving Sheild.

I didn't think the one on Raw was THAT bad, the one he cut on SmackDownn though, was absolutely horrendous.

No talent on the mic and he'll never have it. He doesn't really have personality either. I don't see him as champion as a face. They need to have him turn on Ambrose. To me, he's just the decent looking strong guy. WWE acts like just because he's best friends with somebody that possesses the talents he doesn't, said talents will just spread off onto him.
