I am 18 and a freshman in college and I must admit I hide being a fan of WWE (except to my family) I'm just kind of worried about the response I will get from others if they find out I like wrestling and play wwe2k16. Are you guys open WWE fans? Were you open about it during college or when you were my age?

Be prepared for people to judge you. People are incredibly prejudice and will look down upon you or think why would you like that. I usually keep it a secret unless it's important or beneficial to disclose. I recommend keeping it in the closet for as long as possible until you otherwise have reason to engage in conversation about it.

It's one of those "don't ask, don't tell" things for me. People don't know that I'm a pro wrestling fan, but not necessarily because I'm embarrassed of it or anything. It's just something that isn't relevant to discussions with my friends. If someone were to ask if I am a wrestling fan, I would say "yes" and if they asked why, then I would elaborate.
So, I'm not open about it, but that's because it doesn't really matter when I'm talking to friends.

I'm an open pro wrestling fan, I guess. Take my girlfriend to the shows because she can find enjoyment in them. Waited about a year in to tell her, though.

I'm 19 and most of my friends know I enjoy wrestling. I used to get the "IT'S FAKE! IT'S NOT REAL! IT'S GAY!"comments. Never bothered me, I'd always say they have their thing that I say nothing about, but my thing was such a horrible travesty! off, you enjoy yours I'll enjoy mine. Eventually no one will give a s#!t, if you crack and start defending it constantly, always talking about why you like it, then the mocking if you want to call it that, will never stop.

Yeah. I talk about wrestling all the time and wear shirts in public quite often. I find being ashamed of something you enjoy ridiculous. I'm not going to feel bad for liking something that's had such an influence over me/what I've grown up watching my whole life. Same applies to my love of cartoons such as Gravity Falls/the Simpsons/Futurama or love of Marilyn Manson.
For a long time, I valued far too much over what my peers thought about me. Mostly cause of the torments and what not...eh.
If someone legitimately judges you for being a fan of something, then they aren't worth the time of day at all. Everything is subjective.
Take a lesson from KvE, tell yourself that you truly don't care, and you'll be happier in the long run.

kids these days... if you aint proud to be a fan or to like something, than why the do you like it? and if people are going to JUDGE you based on what YOU like, why are you associating with them anyway?

Yeah. I'm 27 and don't give a f*ck.
When I had my panel interview to become a cop full time one of the questions asked was "what do you like to do in your free time"?
My response was "hang out with my friends, eat junk food and watch wrestling".
I got the job.

Lol There were maybe 8 people in the room and they give a score from 1-5 on every question. I remember everybody laughing at my response and I pretty much knew I had the job. If you can make a table of 8 people laugh during an interview then they'll always remember you. Everybody goes in so stiff and starchy. They asked me a question and I answered it honestly. It worked. I love double double e.

I have a speech class in college and I get a few laughs out of my bluntness. Also, if someone at Subway asks me how I'm doing, I'll straight up tell them "terrible" which is usually the truth. It's pretty funny because 50% of the time they ignore it as they are conditioned to expect me to say "good" I guess haha.

It's one of the first things people learn about me. I love wrestling and I'm not afraid to say it.

I've been an open fan since I was 10 and have had no problems with it. Helps that half my friends are fans as well.

An open wrestling fan, yes, but certainly not limited to the strictures of WWE.

I only say I like wrestling if I'm asked about it. Otherwise you won't hear a word about it out of me, mainly because it just starts arguments on whether it's fake or real, and I have to hear the occasional "it's gay" comment.

Yup
I have like 4 wrestling shirts I wear sometimes plus if you are friends with me on facebook you call tell I'm a wrestling fan and all my friends that come to my house see my room with figures most times they just look at em and ask me which ones are new and point out which ones they remember & think are cool
One time I had a friend come over when I was swapping parts to make a custom and he seen the figure all ripped apart on my table and he picked up the head and said I was like sid from toy story ripping the head, arms,& legs off my figures hahaha
Most my friends that come over tho I've known since middle or high school and now that we are adults they are kinda of just used to it but i maybe have 2 friends that are really into wrestling and know their sh*t but most times my friends know not to ask me to go out to do anything on mondays and sundays that ppvs are on and they joke with me about it but we are grown so it's all in good fun

Have you SEEN the product lately??
Of course I am embarrassed to admit I like wrestling now. I don't even bring it up to people now. I will talk to my friends about it, but it's not 1999 anymore. The days of wearing Austin 3:16 shirts are long gone. WWE isn't a trend setter or popular, and it's not that people will judge you for it, it's more so that many people just don't watch it so they have nothing to say about it.

I came out to my parents recently. They took it pretty hard. My dad kicked me out of the house.
