So I'm a huge NFL fan and there's a hilarious yet rather accurate "rule of thumb" for NFL quarterbacks: if your teams qb is better than Andy Dalton then you have a long term option. If your teams qb is worse than Andy Dalton then you need a new qb.
Now I bet most of your are probably wondering how the F this relates to Mattel WWE figures... Well I just saw that Tatanka signed a legends deal with merchandise included. While I buy pretty much any flashback from the Golden and New Gen eras I still had to stop and ask myself if I would buy it. I couldn't have cared less about Tatanka when he was around and don't miss him now either. Then I remembered I bought X-Pac. I would definitely rather a Tatanka figure than X-Pac.
So my ask to everyone: who's your Andy Dalton? Who's the one figure that you don't regret buying but you wouldn't exactly miss if you didn't have it anymore? Who's the one figure that you can compare others to and use as a benchmark for purchasing/selling? Mine is X-Pac... Who's yours?

As a Bengals fan, this is sadly accurate.

rikishi fits this mold for me. nice to have a new character in the line, but i only bought it for that reason.

The Bengals streak has got to end quick. Cannot believe they're 7-0...
Anyways, my Mattel Andy Dalton is jyd. Not that I really wanted or needed a jyd, but this fig came out awesome. Sad that it shelfwarmed so bad.

As a Bengals fan, this is sadly accurate. Don't worry man. I'm a Dolphins fan. Tannehill is just as, if not more confusing and frustrating with his up and down play.

rikishi fits this mold for me. nice to have a new character in the line, but i only bought it for that reason. That's a good one! He chronologically comes after X-Pac and was part of the Attitude Era which is when I was full force WCW so he would be and was a no buy for me. The Bengals streak has got to end quick. Cannot believe they're 7-0... Anyways, my Mattel Andy Dalton is jyd. Not that I really wanted or needed a jyd, but this fig came out awesome. Sad that it shelfwarmed so bad. Ironically from the same set as mine haha. JYD is a good one too because he was around before my nostalgia really kicks in but my history is sharp enough to appreciate him. Plus it's a really sharp figure. I didn't buy it retail but is a figure I would scoop if I found it cheap enough.

Volkoff and Bob Orton probably. I'd say Doink, but he's really colorful.

There's almost nobody from the golden era that I wouldn't buy. For whatever reason though, I know I don't want a classy Freddy blassie manager fig. As far as guys Mattel has already made, there have been no flashbacks that I'd have passed on.

For me, it's the Usos. I bought a BP of them but have passed on the elite figures and will keep doing so unless I find them really cheap - like at a yard sale where some kids' Mom sells them for 50 cents apiece because she just wants them out of her house.

El Matadors. Didn't need them, but they look decent. But still, do I really need them? Don't think I would miss them at all. Same with Fandango. Good figure, but eh....
