Before I go any further let me say that I have contacted Jack Specific and as long as this is completely nonprofit then I can post this. So here goes…
Through the month of November I am running Clean Shave for a Cure, a fundraiser to benefit the American Cancer Society. I’ve set a goal of $1,000 and if that amount was raised I will shave off my beard which would be my first clean shave in over 10 years. Last year was the first time I ran it and collected $535.00 for ACS, although that was great it was short of the goal. So this year I am reaching out to everyone that I can so we can help in the fight against cancer.
This idea was born out of the desire to honor the friends and family I have lost to cancer over the years, the most recent being my father-in-law last year. Watching him go from a strong, able father and husband to being bedridden and in constant pain as his body succumbed to effects of lung cancer set a fire inside me to do something to help others in this fight. I went to the American Cancer Society with an idea and they helped me run with it. The American Cancer Society has set up a relay for life website to directly collect the donations, everything goes directly to ACS I never touch a single dime.
Now for regular donors I have thank you gifts donated by area businesses to give away in weekly raffles, but for the members of Wrestlingfigs Forums I have a different set of gifts from my personal collection:
1) An Attitude Era Chris Jericho hockey jersey size XL - worn once then used in a display for a year or so and has been in storage for the past several years. Still in fantastic shape.
2) 3 WWE ringside relic cards – see below
3) And finally, an Eddie Guerrero autographed pic. I got this at a show about a year or so before he passed.
The donation site is:
mainacsevents.org/goto/cleanshave
This will be a first choice raffle and all you have to do to get in is make a donation, no minimum amount because every dollar is important. When you make a donation just message me here with your name and amount, once I verify the info then you’re in. I’ll do the drawing on December 1st and post a video of the drawing on facebook and the donation site and on here IF I can figure out how to do so, and also message the winners.
I’ll draw three winners, the first name will have the first choice of prize, second would go next and the third will get what has not been claimed.
Again I get nothing from this, all donations are tax deductible and go straight to the American Cancer Society and I’m paying for shipping for all gifts sent out. This is for the memory of those we’ve lost, the survivors that still fight and the loved ones who stand with them.
If you have any questions or a story of how cancer has affected your life and you would like to share it feel free to message me here or at cleanshaveforacure@gmail.com
Thanks!
