I recently was watching an old episode of the simpsons when I heard the news. They have Internets on the computers now! What a world!
Anyway, I want to update my internet. I currently have the old Dsl from my landline carrier, I saw they are charging my around 50 a month so I think for that amount I should upgrade to something better. I know of the internet provided by a cable company (comcast), which is supposed to be faster but I hear so much negative remarks about their customer service. And I know of the internet provided by ATT which I hear is slower.
What do you all think is the best internet provider?

Comcast customer service is probably the worst in the world. However DSL is crap, and AT&T has crappy internet and speeds. And their customer service is almost as bad. Out of those choices, Comcast probably has the better product, but prepare for war whenever there is an issue. Honestly, there is no winning with these companies.

Comcast's customer service is so terrible that my Uncle actually wrote them a complaint letter

I enjoyed Verizon when I had it. I believe they are around $45 a month. Their customer service is also pretty inept... but I can't complain about the product itself.
If your only options are Comcast or AT&T, though, I'd probably go with Comcast.

Does anyone live in an area with Google's fiber network? I'd love to hear how awesome it is, but apparently not enough to make my own thread about it.

Telstra Broadband.
This question is probably limited to just US answers, but I can't fault my Telstra bundle.

I have xfinity the x1 platform (formally comcast). It is perfect. Whenever I have to contact them I am polite and they are polite to me. My monthly cable bill + internet + phone, is 220.

My monthly bill is half of that but I have no cable and my internet is dsl. I was fine with dsl for just using my computer but I recently bought a smart tv and the loading times to try and watch videos on that smart tv are way too long for comfort.

Ive never used Comcast because I have Charter in my area but I have had AT&T Uverse before and other then it being slow it wasnt bad. The problem is I went from like 40 megs with Charter to 20 megs with AT&T...You can upgrade to like 40-50 something megs with AT&T but it would be more. Honestly I enjoyed AT&T a lot more then Charter from channel guides, interface and everything else. The problem was my package had slow ass internet and it was killing me watching the Network so I went back to Charter & got the same price for more speed.
