RAW was good imo tonight but the opening and ending segments should have been better but at least the crowd made up for it.

I thought the show was a pretty substantial improvement over last week, in that last week was abysmal and tonight was...tolerable. The opening segment and ending schmauze were really bad. Big Show needs to go away. The rest of the show was mostly harmless.
The Owens/Ambrose stuff was excellent. Owens is absolutely killing it.
Most important thing to note tonight is that Roman Reigns is moving backwards, again. With Cena back, his flaws are only going to become more apparent.

Maybe I have a different perspective because I was there live but he had arguably the biggest pop of the night. The crowd was into him.

I really wish Cena would've won the title back... Yeah. Cena as US Champ just...works.

Anybody else think Cena looked smaller than before he left? He didn't seem as muscular or as defined as usual.

So that was the only time I wanted Cena to win a belt.

I'm mostly referring to the way he carried himself during the opening segment. He was back to smiling and cracking jokes, and the crowd seemed to turn on the segment very quickly. Not sure how it came off live, but it was incredibly embarrassing for both Reigns and McMahon when watching on TV. He was better at the end of the night. Really, it comes down to not putting a microphone in his hands. WWE can't seem to resist, but every single time he opens his mouth, he loses momentum. If, by chance, they put him up against Cena (which the off-air seems to suggest might be a direction they're headed in), he's going to be severely exposed. Cena can really, really turn it on when he wants to. Either he's going to have to dumb himself down to avoid making Roman look like an absolute fool, or Roman is going to have to come up to Cena's level, and, as a babyface, I don't think he's capable of doing that.

not gonna lie, that show was the DRIZZLING craps
like i didnt expect or even want Cena to just come back and destroy everyone, win back the US title and be like "yep" but in less than a month the WWE has created and destroyed a stable of top heels who could be the main antagonists of the show through at least a year. they have completely forgotten the entire point of a wrestling program.
yes in the end it's always good vs bad and good should win. but the thing that keeps people interested is actually believing for a second or two that the bad guys just might pull it off
Why is Empire Strikes Back viewed as the best Star Wars movie? Because the bad guys win and it leaves you WANTING more
at this point the "League of Nations" has been single handedly taken out by both Roman Reigns & John Cena with little resistance. and on top of this you have Vince McMahon coming back to TV to pretend to be arrested with this over-the-top straight out of 1980's bad comedy routine about assaulting police officers in another lame attempt to turn Roman Reigns into Stone Cold Roman Reigns
they are literally carbon copying the Austin storylines from the 90's because they are obsessed with the 90's when people loved wrestling, completely forgetting WHY we loved it. The reason it was awesome when McMahon got arrested or Austin or whatever is because we actually LOVED Austin and were fully invested in his character. Reigns is so wishy washy that no one really cares, like I almost forgot he was the Champion....because this storyline is now revolving around McMahon vs Reigns and because Reigns beat up Triple H
The entire thing is rushed and has ZERO purpose. Vince is mad at Roman because he attacked Triple H. So he puts Roman in a WWE title match. Roman wins the title and punches Vince, so now Vince gets arrested and then says he's going to be the referee in another title match next week. How is that even a story? That's like opening a book reading chapter 1, the next page starts chapter 16, and the next page is the 3rd to last of the book.
I bet next week in the match Sheamus grabs a chair, accidentally hits Vince, Cena takes out Rusev/Del Rio, and Reigns uses Vince's hand to count 1-2-3 after SUPERMAN PUNCH!!!! SPEEEEARR!!!!!!!

i will say despite the DRIZZLING craps....
Kevin Owens was great last night (as usual) it was kind of nice to have Cena back, say what you will about the guy but there is some serious star power lacking when he's not around Ambrose still over AF and the mid-card mafia segment was great fun (of course until big show came out)

Sasha/Becky, Kevin Owens, Kofi/Kalisto... the only good parts of RAW.
Again, I'll be going back to watching ROH shows on DVD and DVRing RAW. I'll just watch this garbage in 20-30 minutes on Tuesdays.

Definitely understand where you're coming from. To be honest, the audio in the arena was pretty awful hence the "we can't hear you chants" so I don't think he sounded THAT bad in the little that he said. I also felt that his laughing and smiling while McMahon getting arrested was more cocky/arrogant than corny but different perspectives there. Reigns is definitely at his best when talking is reduced to a minimum or non existent and if the hinted Cena Reigns feud comes to life, you're right, Cena will tear Reigns apart on the mic.

Wow what a bad RAW.
-Opening segment was just bad. I didnt even see Reigns hit/push Vince, just saw him fall down and grab his neck. Way too over the top with Steph and the NYPD officers, would have been better fitting to see this at the end of the show rather than open. Reigns looks like a badass one week then the next he looks like a fool. Last weeks promo with Stephanie was bad and this wasnt any better.
-I cant be the only one who laughs at "had being SuperMan Punched" sought as being a serious thing. Cole trying to explain the severity of it just makes me SMH. Reigns isnt Superman, if Superman punched Vince he would be dead. THAT would be severe.
-Divas match just screams how bad the WWE is at booking womens wrestling. They have no build to a match, why are they wrestling a Two segment match? Becky is good but she isnt over on the main roster because WWE hasnt booked her to be over. She is Charlotte's sidekick and thats it. They will either take the match as one of two ways, A) We didnt give the crowd something to care about in this match or B) the crowd just doesnt care about Womens wrestling. And 10 times out of 10, they will go with the latter.
-They need to stop building up The Big Show around these times. He is NOT the odds on favorite to win the Rumble because he has NEVER won it. Stop telling me how unstoppable he is and how nobody can eliminate him in the Rumble. Its been done, hell Reigns eliminated him and Kane at the same damn time last year.
-Rybacks booking is hilarious. Ryback was 'visibly upset' by the way he won the match, or whatever Cole/Saxton had said. Yeah well the crowd sees through that sh*t. If you want to build a face to not be a ****, he runs back out after THE BIG SHOW and whoops his ass and brings him back into the ring. Not just stand there "upset" that Big Show walked away. Such terrible booking.
-Owens/Ambrose brawl was cool. Like seeing Owens look strong and as a strong heel. But I loathe the decision of us watching Ambrose be picked up and dragged out by the referees to his music playing. The last image we should see is Ambrose lying over the broken table with Owens music playing, cut to Owens smirk. Thats it, go to commercial. The rest is garbage.
-John Cena's return was such a non big deal. They just announced a match last week and he shows up like nothing happened. I mean come on, give it some depth or build, something please! Match was meh, didnt like how they announce non-title match then they bicker between title match or not, only to put the title on the line. You want viewers? Surprises dont get viewers, announce a title match a week in advance and stick to it. Same goes for Cage matches being announced the night of. That should be built up from the week prior, because there would just so happen to be a cage hanging above the ring at the beginning of the night just looks terrible.
-Ending segment was blah. As somebody said above, I keep forgetting Reigns is champion. They are doing that bad a job with him I either forget or force myself to forget. He's on way too many things right now. Reigns Vs Sheamus. Reigns Vs Triple H. Reigns Vs Stephanie. Reigns Vs Vince. I'm all for long term booking but not at once. Way too clustered. Reigns goes from Daniel Bryan Summer Slam storyline all the way to Stone Cold storyline. Its all way too obvious.
This product today is terrible. Im thankful I work late and get the privilege to DVR and skip through a high % of the show. Hopefully Mania season picks up, unfortunately with so many guys injured, it probably will not.

Please get the Big Show off tv....please
When people chant with a groan of distain, "please retire", Stop smiling Big Show. It's not part of the show, it's not a rib, it's a plea. PLEASE retire. He's got to be the single most overrated wrestler of all time, aside from being born a 7 foot tall oversized moron what has he done?
We're all supposed to be so fondly in love with our memories of him like he's Andre. "I remember when I saw the BIG SHOW come down the isle"......and you'll follow that up with "and when I got back from the snack stand he was finally out of the ring"
