Can Somebody explain to me the Booking of Reigns?

I admire that you're trying to find a shred of logic in the continuity of this show on a week-to-week basis, but my best advice to you is stop.

You're supposed to like Reigns because WWE says so. It doesn't matter how he's presented or if his booking makes sense, or even if what he's saying makes a lick of sense. You're supposed to like him because WWE says he's the guy and that's all that really matters. Last night felt like something a writer stole from Kevin Owens, but within the context of Reman Reigns' action, didn't make an ounce of sense. This show is at an absolute all time low in terms of entertainment quality.

Agree, when Roman Reigns is kicking ass completely serious he shows promise...

But this cocky smile he has while he pushes the boss and laughs at the idea of being arrested is a joke.

Then he superman punches Vince and he should be stripped of the title going into Rumble, that would make some sense.

Instead, he has the title and gets every break booking-wise, and he is STILL being pushed like he is an underdog. *Pukes*.

Also, when Stephanie said she will run him into the ground, over-booking him, I just thought how they did that to Daniel Bryan and didn't need the empty threats beforehand.

My favorite logic blunder from the arrest segment was how Stephanie called security down to the ring in the first place to handle Roman because he assaulted an old man, security says they can't do anything about it, then proceeded to threaten action, the very action she requested in the FIRST PLACE against her!! lol

All I can say is that the booking of him is so bad that it's hilarious to me. At least I get a good laugh every week. Comedy at its finest.

The booking becomes irrelevant to Vince and company because they now fully understand that the only way to get Roman Reigns over is to use their own goodwill as characters to get him there. As soon as Vince stops showing up weekly to kiss Roman's ass, he's going to fail again. He does not have the ability to carry the company as a babyface. Period. It's plain as day. If we remove in-ring work from the equation, Roman Reigns has had exactly two good nights in the last year. Two. The first was the post-match beatdown of Triple H at TLC. The second was the following night on Raw when WWE threw everything at the wall (Vince McMahon) to try to make what they did the night before stick. Since then, we've been back to square one. Roman is a smiling jokester who has to take a backseat to the McMahons because he can't be trusted to carry a segment without falling flat on his face and losing the entire audience for the second time in a year.

So why isn't he an angry Samoan ass-kicker? Because that's not how Vince McMahon sees his top star and he can't get the mileage he wants out of Reigns that way, so he's willing to sacrifice virtually everything else to try to achieve his end goal.

The problem with Roman Reigns being an angry Samoan ass-kicker who doesn't talk is that he's an angry Samoan ass-kicker who doesn't talk. WWE's top guy needs to talk, and, according to Vince, he needs to smile and fist bump the kids because that's what John Cena would do and that's what Vince McMahon is trying to do - create another John Cena, not just mold a top star, but mold a John Cena.

While shortsighted and silly, that would be okay, if Roman Reigns had even an iotta of the personality, likability, or talent John Cena does. Yes, John Cena has his shortcomings. Yes, he's been the face of the company for way too long. But he's great on the microphone. He can adapt to a variety of opponents in the ring, and put on countless match of the year candidates. He's an absolutely fantastic spokesman for the company. He's got a great look. He's good for PR. All of those things. Roman Reigns checks exactly one of those boxes, two if you really want to stretch it. It's not there with Roman. It's just not. His personality, his demeanor, his behavior in out of character interviews are totally unbecoming of a top tier babyface.

It was stated but simply put...the booking is what Vince & the WWE feel is the right and most entertaining way to book the guy that THEY want YOU to love the bestest.

I've been trying to figure out what is going on with Reigns for the last 3 months...because he went from beating Bray Wyatt to winning the WWE title and now is in a feud with Vince McMahon for reasons that haven't even been explained. It literally is, the WWE says Reigns is the greatest superstar of all time and you have no choice but to believe it.

Roman is everything. Roman is all you could want him to be. All glory be to Roman.
