People can complain about articulation and balloon biceps (all of which are justified) but for all the collectors of legendary wrestling figures, it was truly a golden age. All the wrestlers needed was sign-off from Jakks and a figure would be made. Now the "classic superstars" have to sign a legends deal (which many of them don't want to) and it still doesn't mean they'll get a figure made.
The glaring omissions in the Mattel line have got to be Beefcake, Harley Race and the Freebirds.
And although we just got a Jimmy Hart figure (in stores NOW!!) I would like one wearing his team jackets. The Nasty Boys are coming out soon, maybe they can come with a BAF jacket and arms so we can make one ourselves?

Very good point. Although jakks had a huge selection. Mattel made some figures that fans had been demanding for years like savage, and steamboat. I still consider jakks cs figures my favorite toy line ever. But I also have to admit that Mattel has done a tremendous job as well. This, especially being a MOC Collector. The packaging staying the same was so awesome ! That's one of things I loved about the original DM Line. Then they started getting box specific.

I pray to GOD that we somehow get Magnum TA.. I hear you my child. Getting Roman Reigns "over" takes time and Vince has aligned himself with Saddam and the forces of evil. As soon as we are finished with that and the whole "Trump" thing, we will use all our power to ensure that Mattel will finally start work on Magnum T.A.

Jakks made ALMOST everybody I ever could have asked for. The only ones they didn't get all had legit reasons why they couldn't get them. It's amazing how many characters they actually released. Plus they had their legends separated out in their own line instead of scattering a couple here and there in the normal line. However, I will say this about Mattel. When you put all of the Jakks figures next to each other, it doesn't look half as good as the Mattel figures. Mattel has much better attention to detail, and the biggest thing for me was the heights and bodies. Paul Bearer was taller than the Undertaker. Shawn Michaels was taller than Diesel. They reused the Yokozuna body for a bunch of people and made Yoko not really stand out. Honestly, the Jakks figures just don't look that good displayed next to each other.

maske2gThe RA's should be taken off that list. They were active during the license. Mattel shouldn't make lots of those nor would they want to CS on the other hand, I'm right there with you though

I love the Mattel line and just getting into the Jakks line. I bowed out after the BCA and didnt come back until Mattel. I hve gone bac and many guys from the Classic Superstars line. Mattel still has a ton of cathing up to do but I love the progress theyve made in the last 12 months. Also they did release Savage when Jakks couldnt.

I hope that they do eventually release these, that Jakks put out :
Bastion Booger Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake Tatanka The Berzerker Koko B. Ware Warlord The Barbarian REPO MAN Greg "The Hammer" Valentine Adam Bomb Typhoon (Tugboat would be nice) Shockmaster Giant Gonzalez Zeus Luna Vachon Sherri (to match RSC WM 8 HBK) Crush (Kona) Jim Neidhart Bad News Brown Paul Bearer (Actually MOC) Gorilla Monsoon (Announcer) Bob Backlund Bob "Sparkplug" Holly
I'd also love to see "The Mountie", but sadly it won't happen.

There are world champions in the list that were not in the CS line.
I'm sure there are also plenty of Mattel figures where looking back, you wouldn't call them classics, but they may have left WWE 5 years ago.
I'm a completist, not a revisionist!!!

Bastion Booger is the only one on this list I wouldn't want. Instead of spark plug I would prefer a Hardcore Holly. Its a good list to see that we still have time to add these to our Mattel collection.

Like Maven, Matt Morgan Nunzio
