Better than expected: *Many have already mentioned: Sheamus vs. Big Show @ Hell in a Cell. It's seriously that damn better than any of us probably would expect. Still love the finish to that match. Triple H vs. Great Khali @ Summerslam 2008 Randy Orton vs. Ric Flair @ Taboo Tuesday Alberto Del Rio vs. Big Show @ Royal Rumble 2013 Kurt Angle vs. Shane McMahon: I know Shane had a few matches by then. Really had low expectations with Angle just beating him in a few minutes. But man, still one of my favorites. Worse: Triple H vs. Randy Orton @ WM25: Because I was there live.Least Taker and HBK made up for it!

The very first underwhelming match that immediately comes to mind whenever a topic even remotely similar to this is brought up is: Triple H vs. Randy Orton, Wrestlemania 25. When that match was announced, I sat back and groaned, thinking "we've seen this how many times? And you're going to main event Wrestlemania with it?" Then the build started, and I was just totally, wholeheartedly, 100% engrossed. It was captivating, it pushed the envelope, it felt so personal. ...Then the match happened. it was slow, plodding, uneventful, and completely lacking the emotion and passion that their feud suggested the match should have. It felt like two guys going out there, going through the motions, and just saying, "well, we can't live up to Taker and Shawn, so, it." I don't know that I can recall a time that I've been so letdown by a match, or a conclusion to Wrestlemania. Absolutely have to agree. There was so much potential going into that Match, even with the Legacy, and it was the clsest oppertunity they would have had to do a McMahon Wrestlemania X-Seven style double swerve. I'm still baffled Randy Orton didn't even win, and in my opinion that should have been his proper career defining moment. Instead, Triple H retained for no real reason and Orton went straight back to being normal boring Orton. I also remember being hugely let down by Undertaker vs Kane at Wrestlemania XX. I guess it's because I was just a kid still, and I was hoping for some sort of drama, not a quick 6 minute squash which it effectively ended up being. Even Taker's appearance let me down that night when he only returned with short hair and the ABA Attire despite all the promos and build thinking we'd get a Ministry-esque Taker. Goldberg vs Lesnar was also a big let down at the time, although looking back on both the previous two mentioned matches in hindsight they aren't far off what I'd expect them to have been now. If I have to be harsh, Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels II at Wrestlemania 26 let me down a tad, although the ending was perfectly saved by HBK's emotion leading to the loss. In terms of being positively surprised, I enjoyed Triple H vs John Cena at Wrestlemania 22 when I thought I wouldn't. The Triple H vs Shawn Michaels Last Man Standing Match at Royal Rumble 2004 was way better than I was expecting too. Despite it being those two and me being so engrossed in their feud, Last Man Standing is by far my least favourite gimmick. Batista vs Undertaker at Wrestlemania 23 is up there too with being pleasantly surprised.

Balor vs Owens ladder match was pretty bad imo. Especially cause I felt like it had MOTY potential. Honestly everything Balor does disappoints me these days. I don't think he's as good a wrestler as people make him out to be. And the paint is what he's getting his main fan base from

WrestleMania XX - Brock Lesnar vs Goldberg. that match. WrestleMania XXX - Brock Lesnar vs The Undertaker. I expected a pretty good match here, but it was awful. 'Taker was out-of-shape and really shouldn't of been in there at all. SummerSlam 2015 - Brock Lesnar vs The Undertaker. I expected this to be the same as above, but it was actually a pretty good match. 'Taker was in much better condition this time around. NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn - Kevin Owens vs Finn Bálor. I thought this would be pretty good, but I ended up hating it.

I expected more from Cena vs Rock 2 at WM29. Did not like Punk vs Taker that year either.
Batista vs Undertaker at WM23 was considerable better than I had guest. Both guys are good but I did not expect them to mesh well and they did.

And the paint is what he's getting his main fan base from I agree. The only good match I remember him having that I liked was the one against owens when he won the title. But everything else has been pretty lackluster to me.His matches dont excite me then it should.

Better than expected....hmmm.....both Vince vs Hogan and Vince vs Undertaker were far more enjoyable than either should have been.
On the flipside to that, you would think there would have been.something......ANYTHING.....to enjoy about Vince getting his receipt from Bret in the conclusion to the biggest story in pro wrestling history. But....nope.
As far as matches where both guys were actual competitors, I'd say HHH vs Kevin Nash in both matches from 03 were pretty disappointing. I would think with them being such good friends and both having such great knowledge of working a crowd together, that they would have clicked more. I didn't mind their match in 2011 ,but those Judgement Day/Badd Blood 03 affairs were underwhelming.
One that surprised me with how good it turned out was DDP/Savage from 97. Who knew, looking at Paiges past at that point, that he and the freakin Macho Man would tear tje house down .....repeatedly....throughout 1997.On paper it dididn't seem like it could've been much. In execution it was downright awesome. It always bugs me when revisionist history claims WCW only made Goldberg a star during that time. Savage put DDP on the map, and he was over as you could get.

DDP was always great I think. He had a really underrated feud with Johnny B. Badd and they had several good to great matches. And yeah, WWE's revisionist history bugs the heck out of me.
