Is anyone else nervous that it's Monday evening, the deadline is Wednesday night and no one has posted a RP yet? *cough* nobody has posted? *cough* I wouldn't worry too much. As a group we tend to wait until deadline day to post stuff. There's nothing to be gained posting anything too early and most people wait until after the deadline to do their read and reply stuff.

Is anyone else nervous that it's Monday evening, the deadline is Wednesday night and no one has posted a RP yet? I've always found in the past it's no cause for concern until it's like... half an hour before deadline and there's like one or two posted RP's. I was always a sucker for getting as close to the deadline as possible. Haha.

I usually hold 'til deadline day, and even that's burned me a handful of times. The few times I came in early have always panned out sh*t for me. One saw me posting early enough for my opponent to throw out a second RP, and I still contend he won that sh*t on quantity vs. quality. The other saw my opponent using my RP as a talking point, which is a giant no-no in my book, if not the fed as a whole.
I've had RPs finished before the card went up that I haven't posted until the 11th hour. Most people here are pretty chill, but I've been slimed too many times to play it anything but safe.

I just burned out after Superbrawl. I had put so much into my last run here which I'm pretty sure was my longest active stretch. I had exhausted myself from this forum too that I just had to disappear for a bit. Haha. I wanted to see if I could just drop a comment in here and see if it would fall through the cracks. Lmao.

@dudelove038 is actually the only one with Tommy End as his character base. sleepy has End's body but has superimposed some other guy's head on it. Face of Ricki Hall, the original base I used for my character (until I went on with a whole 'dark' character and ended up using ends body cause his gear is pretty similar to what I wanted)

It doesn't work when comments elsewhere make it really easy to put two and two together and draw an assumption as to what it is you're miffed over.

I've been accused of creating an environment that drives away others from wanting to join. I've fully endorsed dragging certain writers through the mud when they've stepped out of bounds in their expectations or demands, but god damn man, was it really that offensive to your psyche?

It was the quality and what I believe to be a lazy, almost entirely unfounded view of my character. Oh, and who are you? You can post your resume here as often as you want. You can talk, talk, talk until you're blue in the face about how many books you've published or how long you've been RPing or how off kilter and strange your style is, but none of it makes a lick of difference until you plant your feet, get yourself some tenure, and show everyone what you can do. You came in at an opportune time - the pool of people looking to do the same is slim, and so by circumstance, you got tossed into a match against the champ. This time around, it didn't pan out, and you got tossed in where most of us landed two shows in - against other newcomers. You'll notice when you walked in that there isn't some litmus test wherein you're asked to hand in a sample piece before being admitted. Not everyone comes into this with the years upon years of experience that you or I might have doing it. The difference lies in whether some doof like yourself is waiting in the wings to try and make them feel bad about even trying their hand without so much as the courtesy to offer some connstructive criticism. I've spent the past few years here getting my chain yanked about being one of the "top guys" here, and I'll be the first to tell you that my first forays into this sort of thing were steaming hot garbage. Hell, you've had a couple of laughs at that yourself in spite of having never been here to experience it first hand. If you click this link right here, you'll get the first offerings of a guy a lot of us know as Proggy. From what I understand, he ain't welcome here anymore, but he wasn't handing in stuff like this for ages. He was also headlining shows and getting title shots well before I ever would. The point isn't to draw some comparison between Prog or myself. If the murmur was to be believed, I probably should have been ahead of him in line, but that's how things fell into place. It's neither here nor there, because the point is that even though it may have been harsh and his output may have sucked, rather than someone implying that what he was doing was a waste of anyone's time, he was offered the tools to get better, and he did. Thank Christ someone of your caliber wasn't around in '03 to make me feel just swell about what I was doing. I might've never honed my skills as well as I think I have. Sh*t like this'll get you tucked into a corner real quick - maybe not in the eyes of the guys making the call, but I know I'm not the only writer here who has declined to work with someone else based on their attitude toward other people's output in comparison to their own. Every last one of us had to start somewhere. Every last one of us is at a different point in the development of our style of output. Sorry you got an opponent less than you feel like you were owed this time around.

One time, I posted something that was entirely uncoded, incomplete, and delivered from a hotel in Virginia while I was flat on my back drunk. Thanks for not calling it a waste of your time, jdfranchise!

Every last one of us had to start somewhere. Every last one of us is at a different point in the development of our style of output. Sorry you got an opponent less than you feel like you were owed this time around. I think I've mentioned my writing(as in novels) like twice and it was in the context of letting other writers here(good writers) know that while I haven't RPed in a very long time, I have been writing and they could expect someone who regularly writes and takes it seriously. Again, with my style, I was simply preparing others for a style that may throw them or frankly be something they don't enjoy. My novels have a much steeper entry point than my RPs, but I didn't know that was the case until I wrote a couple. I haven't been on here trying to put myself over. If it's come off that way, I apologize for that. I have no problem with someone with a unique or comedic, laidback style. What I do have a problem with is someone who miscategorizes my character almost completely. It doesn't show comedic genius, it shows a lack of effort to research your opponent, and as you said yourself, seemingly going almost entirely off of my character's pic base. No one knows this because it was a PM, but last show I messaged Bishop and gave feedback on his RP because it felt strange to publicly critique my opponent. So, that's why I haven't replied to Young's RP. I really think you went from 0-100 here and misjudged me overall, but that's for you to decide. I have jumped in with both feet, writing RPs, segments and this show, a match. I've given feedback on RPs and been encouraging to other writers here. Yeah, it's only my second show and no one can know if I'll just disappear in a few weeks, but I'm here now and I'm contributing and I feel I should be given the benefit of the doubt.
