So, I'm not trying to hate on little Connor or the person who is going to receive it this year.
BUT....
Didn't Ultimate Warrior say that he wanted this award to be for the people who don't get recognition behind the scenes in WWE?
I think Connor was a good choice for how amazing of a little kid he was. I just think if they want to do this, they should maybe give out another award.
Idk, what do you guys think?
P.S. Congrats to Lunden for being able to survive and beat cancer.

It was created to honor those who have "exhibited unwavering strength and perseverance, and who lives life with the courage and compassion that embodies the indomitable spirit of the Ultimate Warrior."

Yeah, I was ok with Connor last year but, they should do what warrior said and give it to people behind the scenes.

There's only one man who deserves the Warrior Award
Kevin Dunn

IMO The Warrior Award should be for people backstage, such as Jim Johnston. No disrespect to whoever is getting it this year, but basically I'm using the Warrior Award as a bathroom break in all honesty. Last year it was cool for Connor to get it, but the Warrior Award should be what Warrior said the special award should be for. I get why WWE is doing it though, just my opinion.

Damn right he does. He's the perfect definition of a guy behind the scenes who goes unrecognized.

I personally never thought that Connor deserved the Warrior Award.
So many kids with cancer have met John Cena, Randy Orton, among other wrestlers of the past how many years?? And none of them got inducted into the WWE HOF.
The Warrior wanted an award for those hard workers behind the scenes of the WWE - including Kevin Dunn. Those are the people Warrior wanted to see get recognized for their hard work.

Nothing against Joan Lunden. She seems like a genuinely nice person and it's really great she survived everything. WWE though is obviously going to get more PR with her and better TV than if they showcase a deserving, hard worker backstage that nobody knows about. This is really just a modified 'celebrity wing' induction.

No offense, but does Joan Lunden even want the Ultimate Warrior award?

Roman should win it. The guy got a broken nose a few weeks ago and rose up to take out Triple H on Raw.

WWE isn't above exploiting tragedy to make themselves look good. They might as all start calling it the Cheap PR Award. I agree. Also I dont care for their relationship with Komen. Yeah, lets monopolize breast cancer awareness..... I won't support the organization. They've donated money to groups opposing equal rights for homosexuals. I refuse to support discrimination of any kind.

Jim Johnston never gets enough credit. One day he should get a HOF induction. No doubt.

I see no fault in WWE doing this. It is a perfect way to give a moment to those who have fought to stay strong in the face of disease. Not sure how or why anyone would have an issue with that.

I think peoples issue is that Warrior asked for one thing, and they went and did another. I dont think anyone has an issue with London or cancer patients, but rather Komens "for the cure" and WWE using this for PR.

Even if it is a "PR" move. I'm sure if Warrior was still alive, he would have no issues with this award being given to Connor or Joan. And I'm more than sure Warrior's family has no issue with it either.

I wouldn't take it to that length guy. Personally, I'm a big supporter of cancer charities. My father is a kidney cancer survivor. But why JUST Connor? Why JUST Joan Lunden? Did they fight against a type of cancer that nobody else had to fight against? Were they the first to get their type of cancer? Did they fight harder than other sufferers of cancer? If you want to honor cancer sufferers, do this: Have someone come out and put the award on the podium. Turn all the lights off in the building so it's pitch black. Shine one spotlight on the award. Have someone do a voice over stating simply..."This award is for all the people throughout history, past, present, and future that have valiantly battled against the scourge that is cancer. We are with you. We support you." That's ing it! We don't need a cute kid to tie in to the whole Make-a-Wish thing. We don't need a "celebrity" hocking Susan G. Komen bullcrap. We don't need a face to know that cancer is bad. Almost everyone you meet has been touched by cancer in one way, shape, or form. /soap box rant

Joan works with WWE to support Breast Cancer awareness. That's why them. My family has won and lost to cancer on several occasions, just as I'm sure we all do. But me personally, I have no issues with this award. Matter of fact I applaud them for doing it.
