Hey guys, this weekend was my first trip to Chi-town and what a classy city it is! Clean and friendly like Toronto, but a little bit windy will definitely come back. I think Chicago comic con was today, either that or folks love to cosplay here. Really appreciate visiting, but not because of the Bulls or Blackhawks, Bears or Cubs, but for the fact that the Road Warriors were billed from here and Flair and Steamboat put on a clinic at Chi-Town '89. Anyways to keep this Mattel related, I hit the Target downtown and now understand just how over produced Tito Santana is, also DM Undertaker 2.0! Leaving to head back home tomorrow. Where can I "run into" Mr. Phil Brooks?

I knew it thanks! We've got a 8hr road trip back so don't know if I can check it out but I've read how people can run into Punk on the street . Really great city you have though, we loved the Bean!

Only time I saw punk was on a layover in Chicago. He was headed to a house show in Syracuse with Lita

Clean and friendly? I take it you only visited the City. Which is good, never go into the South or West sides. Also, the best bet you have of running into Punk is to stalk him outside his home until he phones the police on you...or so I've heard..

Glad you enjoyed your time here! Punk is at C2E2 and you can meet him there, I was there yesterday and the lines were minimal. He seems a lot more friendlier these days since leaving the wrestling business. Also Mean Gene, Godfather, Foley, Hacksaw, Honkey Tonk and a Bushwacker are there as well so it might be worth stopping in. Another best place you might enjoy is a restaurant called "The Squared Circle". It's a bit north from the city but it's wrestling themed so need I say more.
Next time you come visit you should attend a WWE Event at the Allstate Arena, I have been to many many shows across the country and that arena still has the best "Pop" compared to the others.

I was originally from Chicago but moved to SoCal last year. I don't miss the winters. Interestingly enough, my favorite city to visit is Toronto and I've made great memories at FanExpo Canada.

Glad you had a good time. I was born and raised here. Fun note, the actual wind isn't the biggest reason we're the "windy city" (we're not really all that windy, especially in comparison to some other cities, but this week was pretty windy) is because of "long winded" and crazy politics here.
I get the best luck at some nearby suburban Targets for figures (I live in the city but close to the border of Skokie.) Next time you come through you can hopefully break out of downtown and do some real exploring. The best food is out of the loop, there's good stuff but it's mostly tourist traps. The real deal stuff you gotta look up and break out of downtown for. But as mentioned, if it's on the Southside or certain parts of the West side you should be careful. It's a huge city, and lots of the South and West side are fine, but you can cross a street and all of a sudden, not so fine. The north is safer generally.
Funny thing about Punk, I'm like near his age (younger but not much) I was deep into punk/hardcore, from the city, all tattooed since a young age AND I'm straight edge. Never met the dude. I mean, I doubt after he got big I'd meet him casually, but even before I never ran into him. When I heard about him I was like "maybe he's from the burbs, I never met this dude and it seems like we should have?" but it just never happened I guess. Maybe we've been to some shows at the same time and obviously never ran into him conversationally. It's a big city so I'm not shocked.

A friend of mine is at c2e2. He got to meet him. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get him my E16 Punk or my Drax #1 to get them signed.
