I want to take this time to share what I was thinking about a bit earlier. Shawn Michaels is called Mr. WrestleMania for obvious reasons. I would like to point out that it is more because of these matches that made him. Or at least that is what I believe. 2003 vs Chris Jericho. A classic. His first WrestleMania since 1998 and they both stole the show. 2004 vs Triple H vs Chris Benoit. A classic. That's all I'll say. 2005 vs Kurt Angle. One of my favorite matches ever. Another classic. nt 2006 vs Mr. McMahon. Not a classic by any means. But itwas damn sure entertaining. 2007 vs John Cena. Not a classic imo. But it was really good match. imo 2008 vs Ric Flair. What a ride. Classic. 2009 vs The Undertaker. Perhaps the greatest WrestleMania match we've ever seen. They stole the show the minute they announced the match. 2010 vs The Undertaker. The Last Ride. Poetic justice. Two of the last guys on the big stage that had been wrestling since the 80's. Main eventing WrestleMania 26. We all knew the outcome, but those two guys took us on a ride with them through that we've been in line to ride since some of us were essentially kids. It's one of those few matches that whether it was the best that they ever had or not, it was something that reaffirmed your love in professional wrestling. Obviously everyone doesn't feel the same about everything but I think most would agree that that was something special. Overall, Shawn Micahaels put on a string of Mania matches against some of history's top names. Whether who won or lost wasn't the issue - and that's what's so great about good ol H B Shizzle because he can have a good match with anbody on the the card. He is easily one of my all time favorites so I hope you all can share my appreciation for the fantastic show the guy could put on.

I personally think that, overall, HBK's 2nd run was way better than his 1st.

I personally think that, overall, HBK's 2nd run was way better than his 1st. It is kind of unfair to compare the two eras of HBK though. Look at his first era, he wrestled at Wrestlemania... Boss Man & Akeem, Orient Express, Barbarian & Haku, El Matador, Tatanka, Razor Ramon, Diesel, Bret Hart and Steve Austin. The last 4 names mentioned were the matches that people will talk about for HBK. Then look at his return... Jericho, Benoit & Triple H, Kurt Angle, Mr. McMahon, John Cena, Ric Flair, Undertaker and Undertaker again. All main event style opponents. So the matches are gonna be better for sure.

True, but it's probably just because it's the HBK I grew up with lol

Post 93 hbk always delivered at wrestle mania, i really miss him. Even his lesser matches were fun to watch
It's better to ask how would you rate hbks wrestlemania matches during his 2003-2010 run?
For me 1. 25 2. 19 3. 24 4. 20 5. 21 6. 26 7. 22 8. 23
Actually I wouldn't even rate any of his first run matches over these except for 12 and 10. Although people would fondly remember 14 I didn't like the match overall.

Mr. Wrestlemania indeed. The fact that he got a PWI Match of the Year out of wrestling Vince McMahon says it all.
I'd put 12, 19 and 25 as my top 3 HBK Mania matches.

I think his match with Kurt Angle at Wrestlemania 21 is my all time favourite match.

I just think it was the caliber of his opponents that put him as Mr. WrestleMania. Don't get me wrong he has the talent also, but look at the list Hbkbigdaddycool posted. From Tito Santana on with the exception of Vince and Cena all his singles opponents were at his level or better at the time they wrestled. All those names were capable of stealing the show so those matches were going to be some of the better matches on the cards. I am not sure if he would still be considered Mr Wrestlemania if he wasn't in the ring with all these top tier guys.

If I had to rank them I'd have:
25 21 26 19 24 20 22 23

To me the match against Kurt Angle is the greatest Mania match of all time. Such an amazing match.

WM25 is such an overrated match. Best match of the night but because the rest of the card was so lackluster fans put it on a higher pedestal. Good match but no where near the emptional rides of other classics.
I'd rank post-return HBKs matches as...
1) WM20 2) WM21 3) WM19 4) WM25 5) WM26 6) WM22 7) WM23

Every one of HBK's Wrestlemania matches from 2003-2010 was a Match of the Year candidate.

I think the beginning of the HBK/Angle match should've been written a bit differently. I don't think HBK should've been schooling Angle at chain wrestling, let alone 3 or 4 headlock takedowns into rest holds. It's Kurt f'n Angle. It kinda takes away from the flow of the match imo. I would've had Angle constantly getting the best of Shawn at the beginning until he eventually throws Angle outside to catch a breather. Just something that's always bugged me about that match...everything else about it is great.

The WM21 Match is his best Mania match IMO. So great.

I personally think that, overall, HBK's 2nd run was way better than his 1st. 2nd run Shawn is the greatest of all time IMO. He won MOTY from PWI every year between 2004-2010, and probably came 2nd or 3rd in 2003.

I personally think that, overall, HBK's 2nd run was way better than his 1st. But he was a face though. Shawn has always been better as a heel and it fits his character aswell.
