So, I got an email from Mattel about their WM sale on their website. I got to check it out and on Page 2 they're selling the WM Heritage Hulk Hogan. What? I understand why brick and mortar retailers wouldn't pull Hogan (they bought the figures wholesale fair and square, they need to make their money back), but why is Mattel selling Hulk Hogan figures on their own website when there's a moratorium on the company making Hulk Hogan figures?

Well they produced the figure so why wouldn't they want to recoup the cost of producing it?

It's either:
1. Hypocrisy. 2. Mattel didn't care what Hogan said, but they're honoring WWE wishes by not making new figures. 3. Mattel Shop is run by a third party.
I actually think it's more of choice three. I'm pretty sure Mattel doesn't run the MattelShop or Matty Collector.

If they were outraged and disgusted by Hogan's comments, then I think they should take the loss. If they were not concerned about Hogan's comments and only following the WWE, then sell the figures. I don't remember Mattel publicly condemning Hogan, so selling his figure on their store shouldn't be a big issue.

They put out hogan through wwe, so its their say if they make more or even publicly sell the remaining, as it would be associated with wwe.

Hogan figures never disappeared. I go to Walmart or Target and his figures still are on shelves in numbers. The only reason folks think it got pulled from stores because they did not seeing any after he was fired by WWE. No, that was people buying & stockpiling them hoping for a big payday in the near future. Stores put out more Hogans after those got sold out. I can go a Walmart close to my job and get 6 Hogan elites right now if I want. Mattel never took them off the site. Only times Mattel takes something off their site is for recalls or it's sold out.

I think they should have sold them off at a loss to a Big Lots type store. Morals? This whole "erase Hogan" is even more of a joke now then it was in July. They are putting Snoop Dogg in the same HOF that they erased Hogan from. He has used the "N" word numerous times in a derogatory way in his public recordings on purpose for people to hear. It is also noteworthy that HHH has tested the waters for bringing Hogan back in so many words during an interview that he did weeks ago. Time to move on and sell some action figures.

Couple of things. Snoop Dogg is now considered family friendly to the mainstream media and major corporations. Even with his past. Same for Mike Tyson. Hogan has not rehabbed his image to the levels it was before his scandals. Only thing changed is that he won his Gawker case but his Q factor is still in the dumps. Fix that and he'll be back in good graces. And Vince McMahon still runs WWE. Hunter might want him back but Vince still has the last word. And so far, it's nada to a return. Also Hogan is not erased. He is just not being glorified and put in the spotlight. Sunny is still in the HOF and she did hardcore porn. Hogan is still in. Same for Snuka. Just don't expect any figures of them anytime soon.
