Nicolas Winding Refn, director of modern masterpieces, "Drive" & "Only God Forgives" returns with his new film.
It looks amazing.

Dull.
The dude's only good movie was Bronson, and that's heavily rested on Tom Hardy's shoulders.
Guess it doesn't surprise me he continues to get mediocre budgets to work with. He has some sort of fan base.
Bleh.

I'm a fan of Nicolas Winding Refn. I'm on board for this.

Loved Bronson, it's too five for me.
Drive was fantastic too.
Only God Forgives didn't disappoint me like most.
I'll check this out.

Bronson is one of my top favorite films ever made.
Drive is a really great film.
Only God Forgives was so much fun to look at. Beautifully shot film. Not coherent in the slightest. Terrible film.. I read that the studio got ahold of it and chopped it to bits before releasing it wide. Dunno how true this is.
This already looks like a gorgeous film.. NWR has amazing visuals. He truly does. If there is one thing I can confidently say, it's that the guy has a very unique and utterly amazing vision.
I hope it's on par with Drive and Bronson.. Not going to let Only God Forgives sour me on this guy. I'm holding out promise.

Only God Forgives is my favorite movie, I consider it the greatest movie. There are so many reasons why I like it, and why I think its great. It just hit me in the soul. When I first watched it, it finally arrived by VOD on July 19th, I watched it, as soon as the credits ended, I watched it again.
To say I'm not excited by his would be lying.

I saw this last night. Six people in the theater at the start of the movie. Two left about 20 minutes into it. Two kept talking about it during the movie because they didn't know what to expect. One guy kept laughing at the absurd moments. And I was just sitting there tearing up at the intro because of my love and admiration for NWR had taken over my emotions and I was in love with the movie the moment I saw his name. I would have turned right around and watched it again immediately after, but I saw the last showing. Will go again. It was a beautiful movie, would recommend!

There were four other people in the theater. A couple that sat a few rows behind me were whispering and giggling off and on. They annoyed the crap out of me.

I found this film to be an extremely pretentious, self indulgent piece if crap to be honest

It will require a second viewing further down the road. I need to see it for a second time in the theatre just to experience the audio again. I haven't been this messed up on a movie since Enter the Void.

This film looks much of the same from NWR... All style, no substance.
