Don't get me wrong this isn't 1 of those 'Austin should return' threads, I know he's wrestling days are done, but 1 thing is bugging me.
How can Steve still give the stone cold stunner and not be in severe pain? I mean if a doctor has told you your neck and spinal cord is damaged, and if you have 1 more match you could risk paralysis - how can he deliver a stunner and not be in pain? I don't get that?
I mean after all, Steve still lands on his bottom when delivering it, which would jar and shudder the neck and spine?
it's like when he stunned Xaviour Woods at wrestlemania - Steve got back up like it was nothing?

He's said on his podcast and interviews quite a few times that if he wanted too, he could do one full year on the road again with a full schedule. I don't think his neck was as critical as Edges, or at least it isn't anymore.

I love Stone Cold, but there is no reason for him to comeback now. The only reason IMO, for him to comeback would be to take on Punk, who isn't with the company anymore. And honestly, Austin's neck might be able to hold up, but he looks far from being in ring shape.

The only person on the roster I can see Austin wanting to work right now would be Ambrose but that doesn't work as a Face vs. Face match unless Dean was being pushed as the face of the company which isn't happening. The only other person I can see even being an option is Brock but there is no way I see that happening. Simply put Punk was the best chance and Austin even entertained the idea a few times but that is off the table, for now.

Stone Cold vs. John Cena would be a very big match but even then I don't want to Cena to beat Stone Cold. The promos and build up would be amazing though.

Punk vs. Austin or GTFO. That story writes itself.

I wonder how much WWE paid him to appear in that Legacy tarnishing spot at WM? I wish Austin was above that.

He has no reason to return if he wants to get seriously hurt. I'm fine with his merch/Legends deal

He had previously hurt his shoulder before Mania and then aggravated it when punching Rusev. And back on topic, he has spinal stenosis which is a narrowing of the spinal cavity, making it more risky to do sporting activity. He also has some fusions, but in the case of his spinal stenosis, if guys playing football are diagnosed with it, their football careers are over. him taking that pressure at the bottom of his spine is fine, however, if someone were to drop him on his head, then there would be major concern.

Lol, the guy starts off his post by saying this isn't a post saying Austin should return, yet every reply is "no way should Austin return, he's done!"
Austin can still do everything he normally does when it comes to working out, and giving an occasional Stunner isn't going to kill him. He could've kept wrestling a few more years in all likelihood but decided to retire because he was just an absolute mess physically and emotionally at the time and his body basically told him he didn't want to do this anymore. Austin didn't retire because a doctor told him he'd risk paralysis or anything like Edge had to.

Also as others have said Austin is in fine health. From what he's said I'm 100% positive he can work a match or two
Can't believe he never fought Punk
That's a boat missed as hard as WM8 Hogan vs Flair

steve is 51 years old and still has just as much, if not more, muscle than he did during his active years. if i was on that much steroids, i could wrestle with a serious neck injury, too.
