It sure has changed a lot over recent years. I remember about 7 years ago my dad came back from a trip he took the the US and he gave me a $20 bill from there. The next day I exchanged it and it was worth like $25 Canadian. A few months ago my dad brings me back a $100 US bill and it was only worth a little over $103 Canadian. It's amazing on how much it changed over a short time.

It's great for consumers, but it's killing the industry in the Country.
I went to NYC a few times, (in 2002, and 2003) and I remember paying $1.50-$1.60 for every US Dollar, or somewhere in that range. It was an expensive trip. But right after 9/11 - everything else was cheap.
Now, I cross every other week, if not more.

as of now it costs 98 cents canadian to buy 1 buck american. That's just the posted rate. The bank is different. They don't use posted rates, as they need to make money, somehow. I bought $40us and it cost me $40.30cdn. Which means the rate was 1.0075 - not the $1.02 people see online. Still, pretty decent if you ask me. I'll be taking that $40 to Raw on Monday night, so look for me/the flag!

Awesome for travelling and buying stuff online. I live near a border town and the traffic in and out of U.S/Canada is crazy now.

I don't find it BS, the Banks need to cover service fee's, etc. They need to operate just like anyone else. Too bad, my bank, I don't have a physical location to go to...
