Ughh, he'll be back in UFC once him and Dana kiss and make up.
The guy is a bitch. He got his confidence shattered by Diaz and like a child does not think rules apply to him so he goes ahead and "retires?" Give me a break. I would not want this bum anywhere near WWE.

I don't see it happening and kinda hope it doesn't.

The only thing I want to see in regards to Conor McGregor is for him to knock this sh*t off and go take his ass beating from Frankie Edgar like a man. Then he can go run out of money and fall into obscurity wherever he wants.

just a publicity stunt to get the focus off his loss. he'll be back in the ufc in no time, not that he ever really left.

Gotta love Dana getting storyline advice from CM Punk. UFC in the last 12-18 months has become a faux circus of dramatised bollocks. Mandatory challengers overlooked for the sake of bigger pay days, might seem like an obvious marketing ploy. But all its done is kill off UFCs biggest draws and deface the weight classes and championships that are supposed to be the focus point of the sport. And that's without mentioning THAT "worked" fight not too long ago.
People rag on Vince, but Dana is desparate to create another Ortiz, Couture, Liddel, a fighter who can transcend across multiple main stream media platforms. This latest publicity stunt rattles out the gullible, and further disgraces ranked fighters, some of which have waited over 2 years for a televised payday that will never come as long as Dana is hell bent on trying to make a "UFC-Dwayne-Johnson".
Heavyweight Boxing is showing UFC how it's done, really. Because PPV draw numbers generally take a back seat to mandatory fights. Thus the sport is going through an exciting boom period with the likes of Antony Joshua and Tyson Fury teasing their inevitable clash, whilst Eddie Hearn resists booking the fight until mandatory fights/rematches are fought first. Half of the excitement is not knowing if the fight will even happen at the moment! Fury has a mandatory rematch with Klitschko in July, which should shed more light on the Joshua/Fury clash afterwards (as long as Fury can once again beat the Russian former world champ, a fight which literally could go either way.)
If Eddie Hearn was Dana White, Fury would unrealistically knock out Klitschko with a right hook in July and win the fight in record time before calling out Joshua. Then Fury would be told to sing Aerosmith again, to solidify that as his "gimmick", Then Klitschko would retire, somehow with much thicker pockets than if he'd have won. Then, Twitter would probably go into meltdown, trying to justify any "weight advantage" they could. Just like they did with McGregor (making weight class excuses for a guy who, ahem... tapped to a standard rear naked choke...) talking as if they know anything about the sport.
Screw McGregor. We've got plenty of worthy guys in WWEs main event right now without giving some overrated UFC fighter an easy pay day.

Not relevant to McGregor but the way Eddie Hearn goes about his business is genius. Obviously couldn't work in WWE but I like the idea of mandatory challengers for the reason you mentioned, so you don't get big matches straight away and then when you do the demand is crazy for it.

There's no way this is even a possibility. But it would be cool.

He retired because Joao Carvalho died from injuries he suffered in a fight that McGregor saw in person. Obviously you know the risks getting into that business but seeing it happen must have made him think otherwise. Don't blame him for retiring young after that.

No thanks. We're basically guaranteed to see Matt Riddle in WWE at some point, same goes for Ronda Rousey, and we already have Lesnar. We don't need anymore MMA guys.

Would love it. McGregor should just come in and be like this big deal, has a pack of big security guards walk him to the ring and such. And with limited pro wrestling training, have him just punch the crap out of people until the ref stops the match. And Conor is a big WWE fan, I could definitely see this happen.

WWE just followed him on Twitter. Remember when WWE followed AJ Styles and people just went "Oh, okay. Odd but okay." Wonder where AJ Styles is now...

I'm not either, but at the same time who knows if he's even really retiring. Punk is even posting things about retiring old now lol.

Not gonna happen. McGregor is still under a UFC contract. He can "retire" but he can't compete anywhere else. Dana is not going to let his money out of a contract to go to WWE.
