There's only one in NJ and I can't believe it's not closing. Place looks like it's about to just fall down anyway. same around me. Only one crappy store and it's not closing apparently. I'm surprised. I don't get it. Everytime I walk in there it looks so 90s and kind of grungy. Seems like I'll find VHS and all kinda old stuff lol.

... the K-Mart in Hamilton? LOL YEA If it makes you feel better, that place is pretty much a ghost town now. I'm honestly amazed that it hasn't shut down yet.

My kmarts closing which sucks. Kmart and sears have held back from keeping up with time, for so long. Walking into a kmart is like walking into 1993. Same carpet and floor. Same set up..everything. Same goes with sears. Aside from their hardware department, the store is just a mess. Its a shame so many will lose jobs. Hopefullu they can turn it around before the whole company goes belly up Yours has a carpet? Look at his majesty here. jk These stories are exactly why I mentioned the crack house and I stand by it. I'm glad some of yours are just trapped in the 90's...or 80's. I've seen those too, same buzzing white lights, same dirty white speckled floors, same paint jobs, same logos. You didn't run into the really bad ones, with the horrendously useless employees and worse managers, rampant theft, COMPLETE absence of new stock for MONTHS! Filthy bathrooms, dead remnants of the Eatery (predating Little Caesar's) complete with labelscar and no lights giving way to the only washroom in the store. This is not just an inability to keep up with the times.

All the Trenton trash love that place. I sincerely hope the head store manager got canned a long time ago though. He really deserved a lawsuit after how he treated me

That's a shame for the people losing their jobs, but it's definitely not surprising.
I think it's actually MORE surprising that Sears/K Mart are still in business at all...

It actually has gotten even worse, though. The electronics section is really barren. And I believe part of their roof caved in not too long ago. I miss the K-Mart that used to be on Route 1 near Nassau Park. That was a quality K-Mart. Ames was pretty awesome, too... and Bradlee's in Bordentown. All the good stores are gone, dammit.

Can only imagine how that's holding up lmao. Bradlees in Bordentown ! . I remember being a toddler in that store.

I'm surprised that there are actually 68 K-Marts out there left to close.

I use to work in the shipping room as a delivery clerk of the main Sears headquarters in Hoffman Estates IL. It was a huge place, many buildings with its own Taco Bell inside. I didn't make much money but I made up for that by "borrowing" several items that came in on trucks. I'm not THAT proud of it, but damn I made off with a lot! LOL A lot of hot chicks worked there as well.

I wonder if 11 posts is a record for shooting yourself in the foot around here.

I didn't know you had to have 1000's of posts to say something. I'll just slink back into the corner and let you have the spotlight.

Yes please, try to shift blame and make me the bad guy when you came in here and admitted to everyone that you're not only a thief, but one who apparently did it a lot by your own admission. Speaking of admission, if you think admitting to theft is "being sarcastic", I think maybe you should go back and steal a dictionary.

Phew! K-Mart Kissimmee is safe. I'm from the UK and I head out to Orlando/Kissimmee every year. Quite frankly, I loved that store. I remember my most memorable hunt for the 2012 Raw entrance stage. My first day of my vacation, I went up to that very K-Mart and I found it. It felt so great considering I was obsessed with it since it was shown at SDCC 2012. Just when I thought my trip to that store couldn't get any better, I found E22 Giant & Damien Sandow on the pegs.
However in the following years, all I saw were E26 Warriors all over the place and ONE E30 Batista (Still bought it lol).

I worked at the Kmart between 2010 and 2011 in. New Jersey and I was pretty much fired on the basis of nothing and when the head store manager fired me he threw a bottle of water directly in my face in full speed and he's lucky it didn't hit me because if he did he would've been very very screwed I feel into a deep depression after that and moved away from that entire state All I did was ask why the new hires for the garden shop were being paid three dollars more than I was being paid and I was not only the lead of the garden shop but I was the one training All the new hires and next thing I knew I was fired In other words that company I'm sorry to hear that, hope its better for you now

Well now I'm at another popular retail chain in New England. And though management is shady and corrupt just like Kmart was , I am backed by a Union this time. They tried to fire me over nonsense a year or two ago but the union saved my butt. I really get upset to this day thinking about that job. It messed me up big time for more reasons than one. That was my first job and I was a VERY young kid at the time. As far as the depression goes. Eh it's an ongoing battle. Hopefully will subside soon

I don't understand how either of these stores have any locations opened anywhere..
I have fond memories of K-Mart in the late 90's here in Kentucky.. And we still have one.. But it's dirty and out of place for 2016.. I'm always shocked when I don't see that location on these lists.

Every time I see a story about them, I thank God I didn't pursue a corporate job with them when I had the chance.
