Another nail. K Mart gets well deserved flack, but I always used to go to K Mart when I would visit a different city, and often found it to be a nice time warp for figs from years past. Lately however it's been a dumpster for E26 Warrior and leftover E28 Big Shows...if they even have Elites. All crap really. That said, I'll miss going to the Podunk K Marts and finding old E6 Cryme Tyme and E15 Evan Bourne (both happened within the last 12 months). Ah well. That's what happens when you run your business like a crack house.

Agreed! Even Best Buy is trying to keep up with the times. I have noticed that Best Buy's Home Video and CD selections have gotten smaller over the years.

What do you expect when your employees would RATHER be laid off and get unemployment than work for peanuts? Lack of profit means no money for upgrades to stores. Also, sears prices are not that competitive. I worked in home improvement and i cant tell you how many customers we lost to lowes and home depot. And dont get me started on the piss poor delivery and service people...

Kmart and sears have held back from keeping up with time, for so long.
Walking into a kmart is like walking into 1993. Same carpet and floor. Same set up..everything.
Same goes with sears.
Aside from their hardware department, the store is just a mess.

Its a shame so many will lose jobs.

Hopefullu they can turn it around before the whole company goes belly up

I worked at one for a few years when I first started going to school.

I worked in the back, and usually ordered trucks, soft drinks, and random other vender merchandise. I did the job of three people and once every few months they would hire someone who was supposedly my boss. Pay them a few bucks more an hour than me, but the kicker is that my new boss would constantly rely on me and ask me how to do everything.

I even once got into it with the district manager. He called me all sorts of names. In front of other people using words like white trash, and cracker. Yet nothing ever seemed to change. He ended up losing his job of course because he berated customers not because of the things he was saying to me. I outlasted I think 7 different store managers.

Needless to say it cracks me up that the store is indeed one of the ones closing. I have no sympathy for them because they brought it on themselves at that particular store.
