Hey guys, I have a quick question, does anyone know what type of paint will stay on a figure and wont chip or rub off? I want to make a special figure for my son, but I don't want the paint to chip or rub off.

There's no paint that doesn't rub or chip off without some modifications to prevent paint rubbing on joints. It does help if you have a good quality sealer as well. But most people will tell you that custom figures aren't really great to heavily play with.

Use acrylic paint and a lot of sealer. You should be good. Multiple applications of sealer.

I was going to ask the same question. I only display them, so it shouldn't rub off, right? I want to paint HOF Yoko's tights red. Did anybody do this and get good results?

Did anybody do this and get good results? make sure it is not tempera/ any one know if oil paint is stronger? I think (using acrylic, and the ones for model toys?) if you apply it thin, let it dry, work slow, and in layers, sealer, is just clear acrylic, so i think if it's dry brushed in where ever, and keep the joints even thinner with paint, it should be able to be posed endlesslessy without any all of a sudden, it falling off, but there is your temperature may vary…. and I don't know, if you put some (clear) nail polish, on the plastic you want to paint, (this method works to take off the manufactures' paint) and wipe it off, it could help with primering the surface to hold the paint even more, and maybe using (primer) (KILS primer) makes it more so durable?

You can apply as many coats of paint and sealer that you want to, but you'll still likely get paint damage in the joints as well as chipping if anyone plays with it.
