> JUDGE SET TO DECIDE IF JIMMY SNUKA IS MENTALLY COMPETENT TO STAND MURDER TRIAL – The Associated Press is reporting that a Pennsylvania judge is set to hear testimony today on whether WWE Hall of Famer “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka is mentally competent to stand trial in the death of his mistress Nancy Argentino, who died in 1983. The former WWE Superstar stands charged with third degree murder and involuntary manslaughter. Snuka has already pleaded not guilty. However his attorney says that Snuka, who is 72 years old, is suffering from dementia and post-concussion syndrome and does not understand the charges or even knows that he was arrested. He also has stomach cancer. The Snuka/Argentino case was re-opened in 2013 by Lehigh County District Attorney Jim Martin after some excellent work by a couple of journalists working for The Morning Call newspaper who exposed a never-before-seen autopsy report that labeled the death as a homicide. > PSYCHOLOGIST SAYS SNUKA’S BRAIN IS DAMAGED BEYOND REPAIR – A psychologist hired by the defense in the Snuka trial told the judge that the former wrestler’s brain “beyond repair” after being damaged badly during his wrestling career and is getting worse by the month thanks to his dementia. The psychologist, Dr. Frank M. Dattilio, said that Snuka is not fit for trial as he does not understand the legal process and the trial would cause a “severe erosion of his emotional state.” Judge Kelly L Banach will be hearing expert analysis from the other side as well and The Morning Call newspaper says it is unlikely that the judge will hand down a ruling today. The hearing continues today at the Lehigh County Courthouse in Allentown, Pennsylvania. You can see the video of Jimmy Snuka making his way in to the courthouse at w-o.it/1TbFbdZ . I didn't know he was that bad.

Sad, but certainly not surprising.

I feel like I'd heard this before. Maybe it was on WhatCulture but I thought that was the original reason they weren't gonna take it to trial. Interesting to see how this plays out due to the confirmed history of brain damage in Pro Wrestlers.

You don't need to shout, mate. Seriously though, that's a real shame. His career has been marred terribly in the last few years.

It wouldn't surprise me if Jimmy Snuka has CTE. Given how he is unfit to stand trial and is suffering from long-term brain damage, it it telling what damage he did.

Calling BS Saw the dude 10 months ago was totally fine and active Dementia can be extremely aggressive, and that's what makes me think this case will be thrown out.

I mean, this really isn't a surprise, considering the fact that he's pretty old and took probably close to 100,000 shots to the head throughout his career. It wouldn't surprise me if he did have a form of Alzheimer's or dementia.
It's also a reason why charges should have been pressed years ago.

Calling BS Saw the dude 10 months ago was totally fine and active Wouldn't be surprised if it was part. I'm sure he does have some things wrong with him due to concussions but don't try and say he can't stand a trial. Anything to get out of a trial these people will use

Even if Harley Race didn't invent it, someone else would have later on anyhow.

He should order a trial by combat and choose Sandor as his champion.
Then the state choose Gregor.
CleganeBowl.
Get Hype.

Calling BS Saw the dude 10 months ago was totally fine and active So was Benoit that weekend and he had the brain of an 80 with Alzheimer's. Obviously his lawyers are gonna look for any way for him to not go to trial, but I would not be surprised if his brain is messed up.

Calling BS Saw the dude 10 months ago was totally fine and active Do you understand the severity of dementia? You could be fine one day and the next have no idea who you are or how you got there. I've seen this happen with many family members. It's a sad thing to watch such proud people not even know their own name.
