I am to the point as a MOC collector I am running out of space. I have a huge shelf everything could go on but I couldn't display them if they were MOC like I am now. Anyone gone through the same? Any advice? If I do decide to open should I sell my older MOC and replace them with cheaper opened ones (or is their much difference in selling MOC vs loose)?
Thanks for any advice, Josh

MOC isn't worth it
I keep like 10 of my favorites MOC, and have all the DMs MOC
Even that is a space issue

for some moc figure it would be worth selling and rebuying them loose but those are the really rare figs like ses punk but if its mainly just main line figure it would be better to open them. also if you really would want to, you could keep the packages stored in a box of tub so you can still have them.

What I would do is keep everything that you have as is and start opening up the ones you from now on. Since you have kept them MOC for so long it would be very hard (at least for me) to open them up. But if you had to then I would sell the MOC ones and buy loose like you said.

I would just open them unless you have the time and willingness to sell and ship the figures. A lot of highly coveted loose figures are quite expensive anyways so you might decide that it isnt worth the effort of selling them. You could also carefully open the packaging and store the boxes in a storage area.
Welcome to the loose figure club. Release those guys from their plastic coffins and enjoy yourself!

MOC IS the dark side...Why keep figures in plastic hell? There is much cheaper ways to enjoy a box. Just go to the dumpster and pull one out. Follow the light my son. Open your figures and enjoy them. You'll thank me later.

Open them up. I only have a few moc, and even those seem pointless.
Open them.

You would be happier to let them free. It'll be addicting!

The only ones I think it makes sense to keep MOC are the ones that you have autographed. Other than that, live alittle. You can still sell them for a good amount even loose, especially if it's a good figure. We've all seen it.

I would sell those moc ones while they are fetching such good prices and buy loose. Preserve those mint ones since they've lasted so long and then adopt. You'll almost assuredly make more money and be able to buy even more figures if you buy pre-opened figs.
And think about it, if your stuff is in great shape, you'll be doing a good thign and helping a fellow moc collector get that perfect figure they've always wanted. This does everyone good.

I've never understood MOC collecting. Not knocking those who do it, it just seems pointless to me.
Let your figures free!

MOC for life... I look at this way, I would rather have 10 MOC figures I love, then 100 loose figures I love. Just my thoughts...

Nobody can tell you how to get the most enjoyment out of your hobby. I personally dont understand how people can handle keeping their figures MIB/MOC. I need to handle my figures. If you dont get a special personal feeling when you look at your figures you need to sell them.

My opinion on the MOC/loose debate has always been to keep special figs like autographed exclusives, if you plan on selling them or pick up non-main line (like the Zombie figs coming up) MOC and open the others for display. But it's ultimately all about the enjoyment you think you can get out of it.

I barely have room to walk in my room because of the tubs full of MOC Figs! If you plan on selling your figs, I would definitely keep them moc, at least the most expensive ones.

I am a MOC collector, always have been, always will be.
I just think figures look so much better in their boxes... PLUS, it never ceases to amaze me how many figures are let downs when opened due to loose joints, can't stand, etc., etc.
Not just WWE figures either, but every line I have ever collected. I bought a Neca 66 Adam West Batman a while back and as soon as I touched him, his right arm fell off!
MOC figures look more tidy, you don't have to worry about flaws, losing parts, dust... not to mention figures with those shiny belts. They stay nice and bright when left MOC and most seem to fade when opened.
If I do find a figure that I would like to open though, I will just buy a second one. That's always an option... if you want to spend the money that is.
