I see Mattel showing off a bunch of new WWE figures at this year’s San Diego Comic Con.
From the rumored line-ups (Series 64, Elite 44 & 45, Battle Packs 42, and Defining Moments), I think that most, if not all of those figures will be on display with the inclusion of SummerSlam Heritage 2016, Hall of Fame 4, and the "Mean" Gene Okerlund Build-A-Figure while other upcoming figures a part of the Series and Elite lines that are works in progress will be shown during the panel.
These are the figures I see them possibly showing on the panel (I rated them based on how likely they’ll be shown):
1. Elite Tyler Breeze & Elite WM 31 Sting
With images of a fur coat and a red Sting jacket surfacing online, Mattel must be working on them, so I wouldn’t see why they wouldn’t be released.
2. Elite Seth Rollins
The SummerSlam attire that Seth Rollins wore is bound to made into an Elite figure. It will go on backorder within minutes of it being available similar to the Elite 41 Finn Bálor.
3. Elite Mohawk Sheamus
Since he's already had one featured in the Series line, it makes sense that they'll have an Elite figure in another attire with the same headscan
4. Series Samoa Joe
This figure would most likely be in the green and black shorts with the same headscan.
5. Series Paige
Even though a Series Paige figure wasn’t released that long ago, I see Mattel making a Paige in her blue and black attire with ends of the hair painted blue.
6. Elite Flashback King Kong Bundy
As of late, a majority of the MattyCollector.com Exclusives have been released in different attires. Bundy’s going for quite a lot online, so it would be nice to see Mattel release another version of him, maybe even the same figure.
7. Elite Flashback Dusty Rhodes
I’m sure some people passed on his Legends figure and aren’t willing to spend $50 for it. I think it’d be a good idea for Mattel to eventually release one again, in the same attire or in a different one.
8. Elite Dudley Boyz
These could be flashbacks or once again in their current attire. I would definitely pick these up if they included their signature eyeglasses.
9. Series or Elite Asuka
Seeing as how the figure requires a lot of tooling, especially for the legs, it could be featured in the Elite line rather than the Series line.
10. Series Emma
Emma's been a heel now for over a year now, so I definitely see Mattel having one in the works.
11. Series Alexa Bliss
There’s usually a female figure in every Series line, so I can see her being made some time soon.
12. Battle Packs Blake & Murphy
The Vaudevillains were recently made in their NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn attires, so these could match up with them or be in their black and red attire; it doesn’t matter to me. Eventually, Mattel will release the NXT Tag Team Championships. I just hope they’re shiny like the titles that are included in the Elite line.
13. Battle Packs American Alpha
I don't see these coming with the NXT Tag Team Championships, rather just a rubber "Ready Willing Gable" towel or some random weapon as an accessory. Gable's headband will most likely be molded on. As for the attire, I see the figures being in their black, white, red, and yellow attire. If they are Elites, then I definitely see them coming with VAC NXT Tag Team Championships.
14. Series Tye Dillinger
This figure is a huge want of mine. If it's pulled off right, I see it being a best seller.
15. Series Ric Flair
It may be a little longer until we see a suited Ric Flair figure, but it wouldn’t be that difficult to make on.
16. Series or Elite AJ Styles
Mattel was able to release the Elite 19 Brock Lesnar in time for Christmas after he returned in early April, so they may show one, potentially even having a prototype version on display.
17. Series Shane McMahon
Shane's definitely going to sell no matter what attire it's in. Seeing how he came back not that long ago, a figure of him may not be shown.
18. Series or Elite Shinsuke Nakamura
Like the Asuka figure, this figure may be a part of the Elite line as well due to a new pants mold possibly having to be made and maybe even a new torso mold.
19. Series Ryback
Mattel may not make another figure of Ryback ever again, so a trunks version may never be officially released.
20. Elite Flashback 2000 Triple H
I'm not sure if Mattel will produce one just yet, but if it is shown, many collectors' prayers will be answered.
Other than the figures listed above, I hope Mattel is eventually able to produce figures of Chyna, Raven, Jushin “Thunder” Liger, Rhyno, and Tajiri.
What figure(s) are you most looking forward to see?
For me, I definitely can’t wait to see the rumored Elite 44 Sasha Banks figure. Hopefully it includes her shades and entrance coat. The rumored Series Apollo Crews sounds like it could be a sweet looking figure too.
I'm excited to see what's in store for the Mattel WWE action figure line. For now, we’ll just have to wait and see.
