It seems like we'll be celebrating the life of another legend soon. Keep George in your thoughts. I've always been a fan of "The Animal". Hopefully he won't be hurting much longer. twitter.com/georgesteeleI don't know how to get Twitter updates copied on here.

My computer is being a pain and won't open things. I know he was ill from a while ago, from what? I don't know. But it's not looking good.

With the thought of his HOF 4 figure being a shelfwarmer and this, i am going to feel even worse.

Hopefully he can pull through.

That's very sad to hear. When I started watching wrestling it was towards the tail end of George's time in WWE. I had only seen him for about a year or so before he had left. I was always confused by him cause I thought he was legit weird. Once I realized it was a character, I was always impressed with his dedication to the gimmick.

In interviews, he seems to be a really smart guy. Kinda strange for the Animal to have brains.
I know he's sick. He's the same age as my mom. Nobody lives forever, so we just have to appreciate him for who he is and was.

I hope he doesn't go. I'm a fan of him. His Legends fig was one of my first Mattel figures.

George is a fantastic man. I still remember being a young buck and helping on the ring crew at a local indy wrestling fed in Red Lion...God...about 15-16 years ago now...and one night the big draw was George. I sat down in the basement locker room after we tore the ring down and talked to him for over an hour. The guy is a legit boss.

Best wishes to The Animal. I still have his Classic Series 2 Jakks figure that I bought in the summer of 2004.

It's sad to hear that The Animal is on his way out. He was a great character and proof that a guy doesn't need to hold a championship to make an impact in pro wrestling. I always enjoyed watching him as a kid.

Nobody lives forever, so we just have to appreciate him for who he is and was. It's crazy, isn't it? He actually has a bachelor & a master's degree. And was a teacher before becoming a wrestler. Blows my mind to think that a guy with a green tongue and turnbuckle padding in his teeth, was a teacher. That's the definition of "don't judge a book by it's cover".
