I've recently bought seasons 1-3. It's really brought back a lot of childhood memories. It's a ver well produced cartoon to be from the early nineties. It gives me sort of a Twilight Zone kinda feel sometimes. I've really enjoyed rewatching them and I've got all 3 seasons for less than 30 bucks so that's a steal IMO.
Anyone else have a fondness for it?
Also not sure if I'll get season 4.

It's pretty much the best Batman you can get.
Batman Beyond is also amazing.

I loved it! My favorite cartoon Batman series, and It gave us the best Joker ever. Mark Hamill voiced the Joker so well.

Along with the Thundercats it was my fave cartoon as a child. I had all the old VHS tapes and action figures, my fondest memories of xmas was coming down in the morning and seeing all the batman action figures spread out on the sofa...never did manage to get the batjet plane though! Season 3 is hard to find on region 2 here in the UK. I also loved the Batman animated series game for the SNES, I could never get past Poison Ivy and that big plant with the teeth lol.
I also collected the comics based on the animated series. The first comic I ever bought when I accidentally discovered a local comic store was Batman and Robin #8. I have the complete run including the 2 annuals which were amazing, one of which was the return of the Phantasm from the animated movie. I eventually went back and got all the Batman adventures comics and the lost years that connected batman and robin to the Batman Gotham Adventures when Nightwing and Batgirl were regularly in it.
Ive so much to be thankful for that show, Im a big comic book fan now and whos to say I would have ever got into comics if it werent for that series!

I ing LOVE that show. Everything Bruce Timm does is amazing. I own the complete series on DVD as well as Batman Mask of The Phantasm on DVD in Widescreen and it's complete score soundtrack by Shirley Walker which was a limited edition of 3500 copies ever pressed by La La Land Records. I also still have all of my animated figures that were made by Kenner/Hasbro. I own the Hot Wheels 1:43 version of the Batmobile as well. It's a shame that some of the voice actors who made this show what it was died in recent years, Efrem Zimbalist Jr (Alfred) Bob Hastings Commissioner Gordon) Aaron Kincaid (Killer Croc) Roddy McDowell (The Mad Hatter)

Loved watching it as a kid. The reason I'm a big Harley Quinn fan, was from growing up watching her from the beginning when they introduced her on the show. I remember the first time I found out Mark Hamill was the one who voiced Joker, I was shocked. He goes from playing one of the greatest heroes in Luke Skywalker, to one of the greatest villains, in Joker. For me, that show introduced me to who will always be my Batman, with Kevin Conroy, and my Joker in Mark Hamill. Really, with only a 3 year run, it made a big impact on the Batman universe.

B:TAS is my favourite cartoon hands down.......and that's saying something because I love me some 80s/90s toons and own a large catalogue of stuff on DVD.
TAS is just SO good. Mask Of The Phantasm remains my favourite Batman movie....live action or not. I watch Christmas With The Joker EVERY Christmas Eve.
And we must forget how important it was......it introduced us to Harley Quinn & Montoya......it reinvigorated Clayface, Scarecrow, Mr Freeze & Two Face in the eyes of the comic writers to the point where the toon influenced new directions for them and of course Montoya & Harley were finally introduced in No Mans Land.
Hamills Joker is of course the crown Jewel here and all of his episodes are absolute GOLD.....even "Almost Got him" where he shares the episode for most of it with the other rogues is a masterclass. I absolutely despised The Jokers redesign for TNBA( Gordons too) but yeah Hamills Joker was awesome.
Of course its also the start of the fabulous Timm verse......which I love and own wholesale.
and last but not least.....Conroy is who I think of when I imagine Batman speaking. Not Keaton, Bale or Affleck.....Conroy.

First 3 volumes for $30 is a steal. The first 2 volumes usually run about $10-$15 each but the latter two run anywhere between $25-$40....Ive yet to pick up the latter two but Ive been watching them on Ebay waiting to pull the trigger.

Penguin I was kinda neutral on....sometimes I liked the non DeVito inspired one......sometimes I felt it was a step back.

I have a deep hatred for most modern designs in animation, its very japanese influenced and I dont like the style. I guess its all to do with what you grew up with as a child and thats why im biased but I still say the older styles looked cooler.

Yeah, I thought all the re-designs were awful too, Joker's in particular is awful. I swear, Mad Love would be a perfect episode if we had a properly designed Joker. One of the worst decisions in the DCAU was forcing Batman: The Animated Series to conform to Superman: The Animated Series art-style, & not the other way around. Regardless, that whole season was a definite step-down. It still provided some of the best episodes in the series (Mad Love, Over the Edge, that one about Scarface/Ventriloquist that name escapes me) but it also provided the worst of the series too. A weak episode during TAS day were a rarity but in The New Batman Adventures it was closer to a regular occurrence. Still, the amount of masterpieces within this series is impressive. I would say it provided at least 30 episodes I dubbed masterpieces & the rest of the series was almost always high quality content. Easily one of the greatest series of all-time.

Without a doubt the greatest animated show IMO, the animation & writing still holds up & I can think of a few other great animated shows.
Though heavily influenced by the Burton films (which I think are great too), without this show you wouldn't have the Nolan films.
Mask of the Phantasm is without a doubt the greatest Batman film, closely followed by the '89 film IMO.

Yeah, I'm a big fan. Like Joker, I'm just a fan of 80s/90s cartoons in general. I do prefer the X-Men Animated Series to Batman but not by a whole bunch. "The Man Who Killed Batman" is probably in my top 5 favorite cartoon episodes ever. Paul Dini is pretty sensational, and obviously Hamill and Conroy are the voice of a generation. I'm so incredibly excited for them in the Killing Joke. Mad love for Mask of the Phantasm as well.
