My Kevin Owens and Samoa Joe showed up yesterday and while I definitely appreciate all the new tooling, I was left a little disappointed with the two because of the poor range of movement their legs allow.
Joe is much worse than Owens, with his legs barely being able to move forward at all. I suppose it is a compromise between aesthetic and functionality, but I think in this instance, this could have been worked out in the testing phase.

I agree. The shorts mold did take away form the range of motion. I too was disappointed by this.

The Umaga figure was also lacking in this department

I got both and I love em. But that might be because I don't play with them.

In spite of the shorts molds limitations I still feel like these are two of the best figures put out by mattel in quite a while. Joe is perfect out of the box, and KO just needs a bicep swap, so I'll call it a win.

Most of the bigger wrestlers with shorts have this problem.

Yeah. Exact same gripe here. Visually they are nearly perfect. But the Leg articulation upsets me, as both men do all sorts of flexible moves.

I just got the Nasty Boys 2 days ago and they both have the same problem. I thought we were past this.

I've seen a few folks mention this as well. Mine are on display so I wouldn't know, but bummer for guys who play with their figs regularly and action shots, etc.

I just got my Joe/Owens from Amazon yesterday and noticed the same thing. Still great figures though.

They've knocked it out of the park before with guys like Bray but Joe has the worst articulation of any Elite I've ever gotten. He's more a statue than a wrestling figure. I really wish they would make sure the parts move well together before calling it a day. So many guys with pants/shorts have very poor range of movement.

Although i have not obtained samoa joe yet, i disagree on the comment about bray wyatt and figures with shorts. I once read someone say bray wyatts crotch piece is like a diaper and i think that is sadly accuracte. As for figures with shorts, i have john cena and both of the usos and i absolutely love playing with them. Im excited for both samoa joe and kevin owens elites regardless

Is this a problem with those particular molds? I made a KO custom using Cena shorts. Just pop off the calves below the knee pad and pop on kickers. Worked perfect. There are two current Cena shorts molds (I could be wrong here), one with and one without cargo pockets. I used E34 Cena with no pockets. Has a jeans seam but id say it's forgivable. Just pop those legs onto an appropriate codpiece and it should be fine. It seems this is a rare instance we wouldn't need a new mold, or is that just me?

My Owens is fine, but I agree completely about Joe, but still love both figures.
