Which LJN Hart Foundation came first? Pink or Purple Tights? ...or maybe they were released at the same time, and were made in different factories or batches? To be honest, I'm not sure the variation is even intentional.
If one came before the other, I suspect pink was first, however, I never found them in stores, so I don't know. When I finally got them from the mail order company advertised in PWI, I received pink. If I recall, all the prototype photos and figures displayed on the TV shows were pink as well.
Anyone have an opinion?

I don't think there is any way to know for sure. From personal experience, I would say they came out at roughly the same time. I bought a set of Harts in the store that were purple then about a week later, a friend of mine got one that was pink. It's another LJN mystery.

The early days of the colorful tights for Hart Foundation confuses me. I think WWF had something big in mind for them considering how quickly the pink/purple tights came out, yet they had still been wearing the black with colorful stripe outfits or black top blue or red tights. I think the pink was pictured in the 1987 catalog (the one with Bees black shoe strip proto and the Bulldogs amongst the ring backdrop). The purple were pictured for the cardback prototypes. I'm thinking the catalog was early and the cardbacks were more of the finished product.
