Okay so I ordered a Kevin Owens Elite + some other items (gifts for my mom) from amazon. A few days go by and I check the shipping tracker. It says that the package had been delivered to my door step on Sunday morning around 10 AM. No truck ever showed up, my house mates can vouch for me on this. Being a rational person I go up to my lockbox to check it because normally our mail goes in there. Nothing in there, not even a cricket! So I see this as suspicious because who delivers on Sundays? Anyway I look it up on the where's my stuff portion on Amazon and it tells me to wait 36 hours in case it was a glitch. So I do, and no truck or package. So I chat to the amazon support. They say they can send me a new shipment free of charge and I agreed. They said that they had to refund one of the gifts for mom because it was out of stock and would that be okay. I said yes. After I double check my statements, I look to see that the KO figure also got refunded. I figure oh well the guy must have made a mistake and I go to order it again. The price has suspiciously risen from 19.99 to 28.99. Trying to be reasonable I look at some other figures, and sure enough they are jacked up too. (I was looking at a transformer that was about 12 and now its around 16 wtf?) I think they did this because it is Prime day. This leaves me to wonder, has this happened to anyone else or is this just really crappy luck? I'm real bummed out guys, this was gonna be my first elite

I've noticed the fluctuating price on Owens on Amazon but I have never heard of this. Refunding the cheaper price is greasy for sure.

I've gotten packages from amazon on Sundays as well. Think it's something to do with a contract they have with usps.

I can confirm, if you are a prime customer, they will deliver on Sundays. I order from them all the time.

I have Prime and I've had packages get delivered on Sunday. The first time it happened I didn't find the package until Monday because I had never heard of this before. I was checking the tracking on something else and I saw one package said delivered and I was like "whaaaaaaaat?" so I went outside, and yup, there it is. Luckily I live in the woods and nobody drives by my house because I'm always paranoid about the stories on the news of people driving around looking to steal packages off other peoples property.

They do. I don't know if the drivers still do it, but before I got injured at UPS if nobody was home during a delivery we use to have big rolls of plastic to put the packages in if the forecast called for bad weather. This was because if the house didn't have an porch that wasn't visible from the road we were to put it in the plastic and leave it out of the weather in a place not visible from the street. then you would write where you left it on the delivery notice left on their door. We were also told to be aware of people who were following us during the holiday seasons as that is when most of the package thefts would happen. This was back in the 90's. Not sure if they still practice that.

So, your package got delivered, someone stole it off your doorstep and then Amazon sent you the replacement items that they could for free and you're asking if *they* pulled a fast one? Makes sense to me.

A similar situation happened when I ordered an elite Lita figure about a month ago. It was delivered fine but in god awful condition. So they agreed to send me a new one but a few days later notified me that they have to refund me instead because they no longer had any in stock at that price point. Sure enough they had Lita figures for sale but they were from third party sellers.
They've since replenished stock but what I'm saying is I don't think Amazon is screwing anybody on prices I just think it's a matter of if you ordered from Amazon themselves or from a third party that goes through Amazon. And then when Amazon replenishes stock prices usually go back to $19.99 or even lower.

If you order anything from Amazon and you don't receive it or have whatever problems with it they will work their hardest to ensure you are satisfied 100%. And yet, when those packages (like the OP's Kevin Owens Elite) are handed off from the Amazon warehouses to the USPS they are really out of the control of Amazon themselves. Really, your beef is with the USPS and not Amazon, and yet Amazon is still going out of their way to please you despite something of which they have no control. Amazon is going above and beyond what they should in terms of customer service and yet you're questioning whether or not they're "pulling a fast one".
