Since Vince McMahon doesn't like the term "wrestling" (and from a marketing standpoint, I can understand his point of view on it to a certain extent), WWE matches are basically being promoted as "fights" instead. They've long expained they're not a sport, but rather sports entertainment. I guess it's not the worst thing in the world, it is what it is, but when they started the Be A Star campaign, it seems odd to me that they're promoted to kids about anti-bullying, yet they promote fighting on their shows. I would think this would be the perfect opportunity to promote themselves as wrestling once again, and here's why I think that. For those that have watched HBO's "Entourage", UFC Star Chuck Liddell was on an episode where he ran an organization to help kids get off the street and in a way suggested that instead of settling things on the street, do it the right way, in the octagon in an MMA fight. With wrestling being an olympic event, I would think WWE could take that approach and promote the idea of kids wrestling to maybe help avoid getting into bullying situations or something. I don't know, I just really annoys me that this PG kid friendly company is perfectly fine with promoting fighting just because they don't want to be called wrestling.
