Mattels are arguably the best wrestling figures we've ever had. Great articulation on the elites, wide variety of characters, pretty decent distribution, and a comparable price point. I'm not sure there's another line out there that offers the consistency with quality of a wwe Mattel figure and here's a thread about a smudge or paint drip?
Try living in the days when your only figure had 5 points of articulation and looked nothing like the wrestlers or having wrestlers that vibrated and the paint fell off of them as soon as you looked at them.
When I buy a fig I try to buy the best one and most of the time with Mattel wwe products I score something to my liking. For the use I get out of them...sitting on my shelf or throwing them around the ring...close is good enough for me.
Now, Go look at the Star Wars main 3.75 inch line by Hasbro and try to find less than 5 of the same figire that don't have derp eyes or receding hairlines or their arm logo somewhere around their knee. Now that's piss poor QC. And the sad thing is that's Hasbro, the top toy company. Even sadder...they don't give a crap. At least Bill and others come on here and entertain our concerns.
To each his own but, I think we're pretty fortunate as wrestling collectors, it could be a lot worse. God forbid the day we have nothing.

It's a toy designed for a child not a nitpicking adult Figures with dripping paint, chipped paint, etc should be discarded regardless of the age of the consumer. Side Note: I dont think a child has any interest in an Anvil figure homie. Let's be real on who a lot of these figures are designed for and priced for. Adult collectors. And these QC issues weren't as rampant in the early days of the line. Mattel has clearly cut costs. Welp I don't know about you but when I was a kid I watched all the old footage I could only now with the network it's a lot easier. These are not $100 statues they are $10 and $20 toys. If you think it's so bad stop buying more for me and the other who are greatful for the work. Early days there were issues too don't kid yourself homie Debunked you're welcome

I needed a Joe for my collection. We don't know what will happen in the future, Joe might never get another elite and I probably won't see them at retail again. To be honest I didn't notice the massive blemish on the shorts until I unboxed the figure. My Joe however is better than 90% of people's I have seen posted on this forum and that is wrong. Why should I have to paint Anvil? I wouldn't buy a $10 table from IKEA and expect to have to paint in the defects after. And it is very noticeable without zooming in. As soon as I unboxed it I realised it didn't line up. I don't inspect my figures for defects I just notice them. If I went through my collection I'm sure I would find plenty of defects is never noticed before but they are becoming worse and worse and more noticeable on every figure. That's Anvil with the singlet lined up. Clearly visible and a bad paint app. It's just missing. Anvil looks nice displayed like that 😉

What is it that people don't understand? Jack told everyone yesterday to call Mattel if you have a QC issue. Stop making threads. They're annoying clutter. READ WHAT JACK SAID ABOUT QCPeople post their grievances here because Bill reads these forums. Calling Mattel is a futile excercise in patience at best.

I went to my local Smyths today as E43 was showing in stock. When I arrived they had at least 4 of each figure from the set. Firstly I looked for a decent Bret. 3 out of 4 were really bad, paint missing from the upper body leaving black smudges on the figure. I noticed a few of them had really badly applied hearts too. Luckily I managed to find the one that looked perfect. When I opened the packing I was dreading looking at the back of the figure but luckily enough that was flawless too. I can't complain with Bret because I got a perfect figure but what about the people who also want a Bret? There is no 3 reallybadly painted figures sat on the shelf. Next was Anvil. Like Bret 2 of these had bad black smudges on the torso and one had really wonky eyes. I picked up the one that looked the best (The pink heart on the singlet is slightly faded but I can live with that). When I looked at the back of the figure I noticed the singlet doesnt even line up and isn't painted correctly. See the image below: Then Samoa Joe. This is one massive quality F up. Every single Joe figure looked a mess. Red paint missing, red paint dripping down the knee pads, red paint smudged all over the body, how?! Every single Joe figure shouldn't have passed quality. I picked up the best one out of the 4 and as you can see from the pictures it isn't great. Kevin Owens. I really wanted this figure but the quality of these figures were so bad I passed. Every one had a major smudge or mark down the front of his vest. One even looked like it was KU not KO because that much of the lettering was missing. A couple of them had bad smudges on the face from the beard paint app too. How has this got to be so bad? I would avoid ordering this set online at all costs! Even at retail it will be a gamble and you will have a hard time finding a decent one. This set is only just surfacing and there are so many people complaining about the quality. Elites are £18 for us in the UK now, thats nearly $25. It is a disgrace. If the next set is this bad I am done with collecting Mattel. It's a toy designed for a child not a nitpicking adult Oh shut up and keep stupid comments like that to yourself. Completely unhelpful and unnecessary.

If I received this Anvil as a kid and it had these problems, I would be more disappointed than I am as an adult. At least as an adult I can take action and hop in my car, return the thing or call Mattel and get a voucher.

Not gonna lie, read the topic title in Sam Jackson's voice. Not enough cursing. It should have read: Enough is enough, mother er! Mother ing quality is a mother ing disgrace, mother er!
