The ones I want to get behind I usually do. I usually see something in them that they exude regardless of booking. Almost everyone else is guilty until proven innocent. Obviously I was and still remain a huge Cody fan, Sandow certainly, they had the intangible. Cody and Sandow were victims of incompetent booking, Cody was easy World Champion material, Sandow cashing in could've definitely worked like a charm, but the writers are stupid idiots. (I'm still pissed off) that said, there are a few exceptions:
Drew McIntyre - he's got it going on now, and he's a helluva guy, but in 2010 I liked the gimmick, I liked the look (well, for the most part), but it just wasn't coming across well, and I was behind him, but there was a little cognitive dissonance as to the degree to which it was believable. I always liked him, but I never felt he really had 'it' back then. It looked like he was trying too hard.
Matt Hardy Version 1.0 - 2002 and 3 he had some awesome moments. Sure his delivery was goofy as hell (or so I thought), but so was Hurricane's and it worked. I was on the precipice of getting very much behind him....but booking sort of went south, then he lost Shannon, I quickly lost interest, it all just looked silly. His 'goofy' delivery started to expose itself as wooden, it wasn't believable whereas previously he was basically packaged extremely well. Then he got fired, then rehired. I was excited, I thought he was really going to show what he had, that he was the better Hardy (Jeff has natural charisma out the yin yang, but NOTHING else. he can't even talk). anyway, he comes back, Edge shows what HE really has and Matt is outshined completely. based on the real storyline he looked like a complete chump. I've never taken him remotely seriously since then, and everything he's done has been incredibly silly to stupid, especially outside the ring. Every time I think of Matt Hardy, the word 'sucks' is never far behind. the fact that he's a legend in his own mind doesn't help. Broken Matt vs Brother Nero is one of the worst garbage Tennessee crap angles I've ever seen, and Matt just looks like he's trying too hard as usual. It was mildly amusing at first, but it quickly became irritating. Not everyone can believably pull off an Eric Matthews. Matt Hardy looks like he's trying to be in a first grade production of the Phantom of the Opera.
Mr. Kennedy Kennedy - It started terribly, but I started to kind of get into it, He's definitely cut out for the business, he has the huge personality, but he's not a guy who can make anything work...and he's a total one trick pony. Seen him once, you've seen it all. Anderson showed us a bit more, but then he said a$$#ole and rode that wave into the sunset without even looking for anything else. Plenty of charisma, huge personality, no depth. 2 out of 3 aint bad, really, but that's the difference between a star and a superstar.
Axel- Mr. Perfect is in my all time top 10. I wanted to like his son. zero charisma. zero. the excitement might have lasted a week.
That's really about it. If they're good enough, they usually get me. If they don't have it, I usually figure it out immediately (Ted Jr, Axel)

I have a long list of talents but I'll pick out a few names:
Alberto Del Rio - I want to like the guy but there is something missing with his overall package. Given the WWE could use a Hispanic babyface and Del Rio is one the fans would like. The WWE made a giant mistake having him return last year as a heel. Sad they didn't keep him special for very long. I hope Del Rio can thrive on SmackDown.
Summer Rae - Her stuff on NXT was gold. Probably the most underrated female performer on the roster. Her match with Becky Lynch on Superstars last week was really good. She hasn't been given a ton to work with. I am sure if given the chance, I am sure she can thrive.
Sheamus - I love how he looks like a badass, old-school type of wrestler. If they presented him as the heel he was in 2010, I am sure his current heel run would be a whole lot better. Over the last couple of years, he was being given such bad material. I really hope Sheamus rebounds after the draft.

dean ambrose. by no means do i not enjoy him, but i thought he was for sure going to be my pick out of the shield. rollins blew him outta the water over time though.
sami zayn. just not really doing it for me. the hat/theme song are just corny, and he doesn't have much dynamic to his character as a babyface. hopefully that changes over time, his in ring ability speaks for itself.

Back during WCW's days, I wanted to get behind Chris Jericho. For some reason, he just couldn't win the "Big One". Then he got to WWE, and they even made a storyline about him not being able to win the “Big One”. I had given up on him, and put my stock into Kurt Angle. Then, not only did he win the “Big One”, but he won the “Big Two” in the same night, against, arguably, the 2 biggest names in Professional Sports Wrestling Entertainment!! As soon as it happened, I quit watching World Wrestling Federation…for 22 hours. As soon as Y2J walked out to the ring, with both the Big Eagle and the Big Gold, I fell off the wagon, and once again, became a Jericho-holic!! As far as today’s SuperStars go, I just get behind the Champions. I would't mind getting behind some divas... wait i think we mean different things. Young Moolah, Baby!! And by Moolah, I mean money, not the Fabulous one.

Curtis Axel and Ted DiBiase Jr. Their dads are two of the greatest of all time so I really wanted to like these guys. Unfortunately, they don't even come close to living up to the family legacy.
Oh, and Michael McGillicutty. Can't forget him.

Ambrose. I always felt Seth was the best in the Shield and knew he was going to be a star once he broke away from them. But I wanted to get behind Dean, but that fallaway slingshot clothesline and his catfight like beatdowns sour me every time he does them.
