Anyone else slowing down pr being more selective in favor for other lines? I use to get at least half the figures per set of elites sometimes more depending on who and once in a blue moon a basic or battle pack but over the last few months I have been VERY selective.
I have had more interest in other higher end lines and been focusing on those. seems like there are waaaay too many good quality lines/companies out and its a pain to keep up with. imports, 1/6, four horsemen mythic legions line etc then other companies like DC collectibles, NECA etc. not to mention stuff coming out like the mezco one:12 stuff
I still collect mattel elite but have been in favor of other stuff recently. anyone else have the same trend lately?

Kind of the same, I sold off a third of my collection and narrowed it down to what I really would miss if it was gone.
For me, the new day sum up my early collecting habits. Really want pink & light blue but impatiently bought e42 Xavier, was ready for Kofi before selling Xavier shortly after. Going to wait for the attires I really want instead of rushing and settling from now on.

I've always been very selective. I'm slowing because There hasn't been much I've wanted lately. I would like to be buying tons

I'm taking a vacation because the difference between what's coming out(Elite 43/Basic 64) and what's in stores(Elite 30-39/Basic 50-58) is so great and my ignorance will pay off during a sale in a few months, I think.

My collecting habits have become progressively more selective.
1. Started collecting everything. 2. Changed to collecting only figures I really liked. 3. Changed to collecting only flashbacks. 4. Changed to collecting only flashbacks pre-Attitude. 5. Changed to collecting only flashbacks pre-'95 with a few WCW exceptions.

Nope not at all. I'm still going strong with all of the lines I collect.

Not sure really. I feel like I'm slowing down but when I look at it I have most of the figures that are coming out.
Mezco has really grabbed my attention as they've expanded their selection

Nope not really. I haven't purchased a full wave of wrestlers since the Legends line ended. So I have always been selective with what figures I purchase because I collect so many different lines.

For me, I've never really gone deep into the Mattel WWE Rabbit Hole. I try only to get 1 of every Sting figure that isn't in a BattlePack, and then 1 of my favorites only. I try to only grab elites, but the Divas I like are most likely only going to be Basics. So, for Paige, I jumped at the opportunity to get her first figure which was Elite. WHile I wanted an elite Becky, the my feeling is that the chances of her getting the Elite treatment are rather slim, so I opted for the Basic. For Sasha, while her basic came out first, I opted to wait for the Elite. I'm hoping Bayley is either given a new basic scan or an elite before I pick up on of her.
So to answer your question more clearly, I make it a point to get what I feel is the definitive elite of one of my favorites. Only exceptions are Sting and possibly AJ Styles as there my number 1 favorites of two eras. With the divas, I weigh the options of "Will they be getting an elite treatment? If not, I try to get their first time in line basic" if it's with a gimmick I like. Like I passed on Emma's dorky dancing gimmick, but will get the basic Evil Emma since I doubt we're getting an elite.

Yep. 100%. Primarily with what Marvel Legends is doing right now since they seem to be putting a big emphasis on X-Men. I was extremely excited for Thundercats too but that kind of got sh*t on yesterday with the news that everything is switching to Super7. So that line probably will end before it really starts. But yeah, the last two years for me have been excitement for other lines. NECA is always a priority for me. They do great work. That and we might even see a new Visionaries line if Hasbro is really pumping life back into it. Which has me absolutely floored.
WWE has just reached a plateau for me. We've gotten a good chunk of my major wants and my outstanding wants are largely guys we're never getting. So Raven, Owen Hart, and Scott Steiner. Everything else is just me trying to get excited for variant attires of guys we already have. Other than maybe Angle, Goldberg, and Hardy, I don't really see much else in the way of surprises down the road either. Also, the QC issues have been enough to turn me off and I'm tired of spending money on figures just to have to put my own knee and elbow pads on them because it wasn't in the budget. There is stuff that would certainly get me excited, like a 92 Piper and maybe eventually a Piper's Pit playset, and there is stuff I still really want like a Diesel scan that doesn't look like Kane, and IYHDX HBK, but again, I have all of those guys already. So we're talking upgrades and replacements here.
I still enjoy collecting WWE figures, but it's definitely not as enthralling as some other figures that are out there or coming. Lots of more interesting things going on at SDCC than WWE Mattel imo.

Yes, but not just with Mattels. In general its a space issue. Not only have I cut down and sold some, but I don't collect anything else anymore. I wanted to start POP Vinyls, but I didn't. I wanted Neca Rocky, but nope. I'm getting old, I have too much crap already. My dad passed a few years ago, I had to clean out the house largely myself. Ever since then my entire mindset on 'stuff' changed. I've been slowly eliminating things, or in the case of the Marvel Legends (which I collected up until they switched from the plastic shell packages) opening them, and I still don't have display space.

I want to be selective but I have this fear that if I don't buy something, I'll regret it a few months later when it's gone
I really need to start being selective though as space is quickly diminishing, I may have to re-locate the wife soon

Yes and no. Slowing down on WWE figures? Yes. Figures in general? No. I also got back into collecting music since I save quite a bit not buying wrestling figures very often. Bandai's Robot Spirits line and Max Factory's Figma eat a lot of my money these days along with NECA and Marvel Legends. Mattel's DC stuff looked pretty solid last night. It gave me hope for them after I was beginning to lose it.

Absolutely. I have really been cutting back lately but mostly because im holding out for whats to come later down the line. Im also pretty content with the collection i have currently. No need for more doubles or variants
Off topic but i also collect other things and the biggest being DBZ so i want to get some of the latest SH figuarts but only AFTER im up to date with my mattel elite collection first
It is just too hard to keep up with multiple collections at once. My best advice would be to stick to one or two things.
