Brought this up in the Hardcore match thread and going to develop it here.
Basically I'd have Heath Slater bring back the 24/7 title, I don't know about you but he's easily one of the most entertaining guys on the roster.
I'd have Heath over the next few weeks bring up that he's running out of money because he's not signed to a brand, eventually have him root through the trash and find the Hardcore title or even make one and say to the GMs that their brand need this title, they decline, leading to Heath declaring he'll defend it against anyone, any place, any time. Boom 24/7 Hardcore Title is back BAYBAY.
If anyone on the roster can pull this off I definitely think Heath, he is a great comedy guy, and it would help lower card guys get on the shows, more segments for preshows, ppvs etc.
What do you guys think?

I could see Mick Foley talking to Slater, telling him he wants him on RAW and Heath eating it up. Then Foley says he has something to sway him to signing with RAW. He gives him the Hardcore title and Heath goes off on how he deserves it and is going to make the hardcore title the best title on RAW then, as Foley is leaving, he mentions.. oh.. it's a 24/7 championship. and a bunch of other wrestlers come in the room to attack Slater...

I don't think the hardcore matches would be that great with non head shots. i know they are dangerous and not 100% needed but i just think it would be weird to see all these weapons being used with no over the head stuff once in a while. Maybe i would get used to it though. I do love Heath's stuff right now. I just wish he would get a little bit offense in here and there. It would be cool if he became a legit contender or wrestler and had some big win or something and both brands then wanted him and he "held out" for more money and a bigger contract.

I'm not sure if the hardcore title would really work these days. For the exact reasons you mentioned. However, i love the idea that Heath eventually comes to some point in this story that he literally becomes the hottest "free agent" and lets it go to his head. Starts a bidding war for his contract as you mentioned. I suppose the easiest way to facilitate that is that he gets some improbable win over a major guy. Not sure who yet.....Vince would never let Brock take the upset loss, but he would be the best candidate. More likely it would be someone like Jericho. But ,IMO, the best guy not named Lesnar for this, would be Braun Strowman. Imagine all that monster build only for Heath to score the upset win after being dominated the majority of the match. It could be the modern day equivalent of the 123 Kid deal. They have the chance to really let Slater bring something to the table here, if they let it play out properly and not get bored with it first.

I mean in a year or 2 from now is anyone gunna remember the Stroeman was undefeated for so long? I highly doubt it. Just let Slater get a win like you said
