With the Fantasy Baseball season dwindling down, how did everyone perform in their league(s)?
In four leagues, I am currently first, second, fourth(WF Rotiss), and Fifth(WF H2H)
Players that have helped me:
Jason Giambi: I drafted Giambi with low level picks in every league. I held on to him, and virtually never gave up. I view Giambi as a player who has helped me a great deal, and I expect him to be a round 3-5 player next year, instead of a guy who often went undrafted.
Bartolo Colon: I own Colon in two leagues, both of which he was acquired very late. Colon is leading the AL in wins, and is near the top in almost everything else. After he wins the Cy Young award, I expect him to be a top 10 starting pitcher next season.
Clint Barmes/Felipe Lopez: Shortstop was a position I ignored in two of the four leagues I was in, and regretably so. Barmes before getting injured provided a huge spark to my team, and after Barmes went down, I claimed Lopez, who provided similar numbers.
Felix Hernandez: I was waiting for this call-up all season, and claimed him in all four leagues. I expect his value to be huge next season.
B.J. Ryan: While some people didn't even expect him to close for the O's, I knew it from the get-go. Its always a risk drafting a first year closer, but he has been one of the better ones. Decent amount of saves, good strikeout numbers for relivers. I expect him to be drafted much earlier in 2006.
Gustavo Chacin/Erik Bedard: Both were basically waiver wire guys. Neither were drafted high, if at all, and have both been fairly solid. While Bedard has tailed off since coming back from the DL, he has still made an impact early in the season.
Morgan Ensberg: Undrafted in most of my leagues, I picked ensberg up in two, and he has been a rock in the third base/utility spots.
Jason Bay: What sophmore slump?
Players that Hurt me:
Carlos Beltran: owned in two leagues, Beltran has not been anything close to the five tool player most Beltran owners were expecting.
Carl Pavano: While I was expecting a dropoff in production, I penciled him in for 14+ wins on the Yankees... Wasn't expecting the injury, paid dearly for an early pick.
Barry Bonds: My first pick in two drafts, hasn't played an inning this season.
