On this week’s episode of MSL & Sullivan, available on MLWradio.com, former ROH & EVOLVE commentator Mister Saint Laurent and former WCW matchmaker Kevin Sullivan discussed the romantic relationship between Alberto Del Rio and Paige. WWE has gone to great lengths to split up the couple and MSL revealed some of the previously undisclosed details.
“Mark Carrano, who fans might know from Total Divas, kind of like the office liaison guy, approached Del Rio and Paige individually and harassed each of them about their relationship. It was indicated that the office wanted them to sever their romantic relationship.”
MSL also said that WWE threatened Paige:
“A lot of people speculated if this was the reason [WWE] split them up in the draft and that’s definitely what happened. The company did not want them together. They split them up in the draft by design and they threatened to fire Paige if she didn’t break up with Del Rio.”

If that is true, it is very pitiful.
Despite what anyone thinks about their relationship, the workplace should say nothing about it, it's not their business.
If their relationship was hindering their work at all, then yeah it was the right move to split them on seperate brands. But threatening to fire an employee because of their personal life and to be with someone? Unacceptable and truly despicable.

Eh fire her already. They got as much as they can from having her on the roster. Use the money they pay her to buy an espresso machine for backstage or something.

....But why tho? Why the do they care? Paige is young and from reports we've received since Del Rio and her started dating, she's very impressionable.. Paige wasn't failing any drug tests before Del Rio. So let's be honest here, he seems to be having a negative effect on her and her young career.. Paige is young, and she has achieved alot very young.. She has a LONG career ahead of her as long as she doesn't get involved with egotistical drug users. I don't view this negatively, I view this as higher ups protecting Paige from a much older, influential, twice disgruntled employee. |

Is that actually legal? Anyway, regardless of if they agree with their relationship or not, threatening to fire her over it is a dick move.

WWE loves to get involved in relationships. WWE did the same with Seth Rollins and that Zahra from NXT girl. Once the racist allegations came out and she was released, company basically told him that he needed to ditch her because it would ruin his image. That played a big factor in them breaking up for good. While I understand it's the work place, when you're involved in a divorce settlement and are caught in between and it draws attention to WWE, of course they're going to want their name in the clear.

Even though I'd love to motorboat dem tittays, if losing her is the price we pay for Del Rio to go away, then I can deal with it. Especially since her in ring work has been declining for quite a while.
I do agree that it was probably a "for your own good" because he is a bad influence thing, though that still doesn't make it right. She is an adult. She can make bad decisions if she wants to.

Whenever I see pics of adr and Paige I just can't shake how mismatched they look together. Adr is a damn good looking guy who could no doubt pull any girl. Sorry to offend you guys but Paige is just ugh... So trashy looking and her personality is just brash and unattractive.

I wonder why the care so much? I mean, people in the wrestling business date all the time. The only thing I can think of is that they felt Del Rio was influencing Paige to be more of a "free spirit" when it comes to her work. Del Rio has been noted for not exactly being a company guy.
With that being said, they do like like a super weird couple.

I heard the reason they want Paige to end her relationship with Alberto is because he was still married when they he and Paige started dating. If I were Paige I would end the relationship to save my job.

It could be them trying to keep Paige. Del Rio made it known months ago he would not be resigning with WWE, and would go back to LU. Perhaps they think when he leaves, Paige may follow when her contract is up. I dunno.

It's odd that WWE is trying to split up a relationship between two adults who can make their own decisions. But if it is to benefit Paige, she should do it. But if she doesn't, we all know why... The ladies love him!  |

There's a chance they split them up to protect her. She is rather young and they probably knew he was on his way out and would potentially screw with her. Example: both getting popped for banned substances.
