Sad news to report from today. Came home from work this afternoon to discover water damage from the apartment's HVAC unit. The water had made its way into a closet where cardboard boxes of figures (among other things) were being stored. Unfortunately, boxes were on the carpeted floor and things got wet. I would not have guessed the master bedroom closet was in danger of water damage. Here's some pics from the night's adventure... So, now I have two not-so-moc-anymore figures... Could have been a lot worse. Here are the figures that survived the water by being either in the middle of boxes or along the edges where little to no damage occurred... Thankful that none of these guys got too wet. Take away lesson from this... store MOC figures very carefully. Cardboard boxes will not be enough, at least ones that are in direct contact with the floor.

That sucks.. Something similar ended up happening to me two months ago. Someone who lives a few floors above me forgot to turn off their faucet and caused a leak in their unit. Water seeped down to my apartment unit leading to water damage on my wall. I only noticed when the adhesive hooks I used to hang up my figures started losing their stickiness. Had I not noticed, some of my autographed figures would have been destroyed. I'm a MOC collector too.

Upside is that both of your now non M0C figures go for cheap online. Might be able to replace both for 30 dollars.

Whoa You are lucky that's all that was ruined. It looks like you dodged a bullet because there are some really good MOC figs you've got

Ah... you were forced to The Dark Side!! Well on the plus side, at least it was only two (pretty common) figures that were water-damaged... I'm glad the rest were OK. Sorry for your loss Yeah... I would definitely recommend some plastic boxes like this - they make them in all sorts of sizes. It may cost a bit, but if you're keeping the figures MOC long-term, they're great.

A sign from god that MOC collecting is morally wrong.

A sign from god that MOC collecting is morally wrong. Nothing wrong with MOC. I go both ways when it comes to collecting. Makes things more interesting.

Why are they just sitting there anyways? You bought them to hide in a closet?
